WHERE THERE'S YOU, THERE'S LOVE

CHAPTER 1

It's now lunchtime, but I'm actually heading to the nurse's office. Miss Collin was looking for me. I guess she wants me to join her in lunch.

That childish teacher really can't live by herself. She always do this to me. I can't even remember how the two of us became this close.

It was only Miss Collin in the nurse's office when I arrived there since all the students are having their lunch in the cafeteria. She smiled and waved at me when she saw me. I took a sit across from her table and took out my lunch.

"This sounds really stupid, but I've never been in a relationship," Miss Collin started to whine before I could even take a bite of my food.

What kind of teacher whines about being single to their student? She surely doesn't feel even a hint of hesitance when saying this kind of things.

"Did you call me here just to tell me that?" I asked, putting my utensils down.

"Oh come on. Don't be a killjoy and just play along," she said, as if it was my fault for saying that in the first place. "As I was saying, I've never tried dating."

"You're like what, 30 already and you haven't been in a relationship? That's so sad," I said nonchalantly. No wonder she won't stop whining about being single her entire life.

She pouted. "You don't have to put it that way." She's really childish for an adult.

"So what type of guy do you like?" I asked, playing along with her antics.

She leaned her back against her chair, tapping her chin, giving it a thought. "I'm not even sure if I like men. If I were to be honest, I lean more to women," she admitted.

"Should you really disclose that to your student?"

She shrugged. "Well, you asked."

Wow, she's the only adult I've met who's not scared to open topics like this.

"I only asked because I felt like I had to or else you'll have a tantrum," I replied.

"So mean. But I really want a girlfriend."

If this keeps going on, I won't be able to have lunch. She's not going to stop until she's satisfied.

"Then why didn't you get one. This is an all girls school." I can't believe I'm encouraging her to find a girlfriend.

"It's not as easy as it sounds. I don't want to date just anyone," she said, giving me a 'seriously?' look.

"Then how about going out with me?" I asked, looking straight in her eyes.

She put her hand over her mouth, her eyes slightly widened, clearly shocked with my unexpected proposal. "Oh my. A teacher-student relationship? I've never been in one actually. What a real rule breaker," she smiled playfully.

"You're an idiot," I replied, turning my attention back to my lunch. I should've just stuffed my mouth and ignored her whining instead of giving it attention.

"Are you really serious?" she asked. As if I was joking to begin with.

"Do I look like I have a sense of humor?" I retorted, looking back at her.

She giggled, clearly pleased with this unexpected turn of events. "You really are serious. Hmm, I never thought of that. I mean, you're really pretty, smart and fun to talk to. I think it wouldn't hurt to give it a shot as long as we don't get caught, right?" she said and even winked at me.

And that's how I started dating the school nurse. You might be wondering why I asked her out. Well, even though I'm not completely against the idea of dating her, the real reason why I did that, was because she always whines about it. If I did her this favor, maybe she'll quit acting like a child who's so obsessed with being in a relationship.

Seeing that she seems to trust me, asking her to be my girlfriend will surely benefit the two of us. She wants to experience being in a relationship and I want her to stop whining about it, so this set-up clearly favors both of us.

Lunch ended with Miss Collin's usual high spirits. Talking about random things all throughout lunch while I just listen to her. She doesn't seem to mind the lack of response I was giving. I also don't mind her doing all the talking as I'd rather listen than talk.

"Andy, do you have plans after this?" Sena asked.

"Probably study in advance," I replied, collecting my things.

"Bummer. I was planning to invite you to get some ice cream and hang out," she said, grabbing her bag.

"Sorry. I can't."

"That's okay. Maybe next time," she smiled.

I nodded my head and she waved me goodbye before leaving the classroom.

It's been so long since I've hanged out with someone. Sena always invites me, but I always say no. I just don't feel like doing all those things which they consider fun. Going to the mall, shopping, sleepovers and other outdoor activities are not really my thing. I practically have a body of a highschool girl, but a soul of an old lady.

"Did you come here to pick me up?" Miss Collin asked, smiling brightly at me.

"No. We're not even supposed to be seen together leaving school."

She pouted. "Why? We always go home together. The only difference now is we're leaving school together as girlfriends and not as teacher and student."

"Someone might hear you. Do you want to get fired?"

She really has no fear or whatsoever.

"Everyone except us already left school," she replied unbothered, taking her bag. "Let's go," she added after locking the door.

I didn't argue anymore and just went along with her. It's true that we usually go home together. My house is only a 15 minute walk from school, but sometimes Miss Collin drops me off whenever she's not busy. She has an apartment not too far from school.

Going home together or hanging out with a teacher is not new in our school. The only male teacher here is the principal, so the school is not that strict when it comes to their students. There's nothing wrong with hanging out and being close to their teachers as long as it doesn't affect their studies. The school prioritizes the students well-being and youth, rather than setting countless rules and regulations that could lead to unsightly rebellions and multiple rule breakings.

They're lenient, yet firm with their values and morals. They simply want nothing but the best for their students.
