My hands are trembling as I reach for the front door. If anyone were to ask me why I'd tell them it was because of the cold. I press down the door handle and shut the door behind me gently. I want to slam it shut but mom would get angry with me.
That fucking asshole! He leaves my life and has me thinking he's dead only to come crawling back to ask me to come with him.
I try not to cry as I pass the living room. My mom is sitting by the fireplace, looking out the window. I must've stepped on a creaky floorboard because she turns to face me.
"So... what did the idiot have to say?" She laughs. There's something else in her voice though... maybe concern?
"He just... He came for his pills." I lie. I hate him so much for leaving but I don't want mom to get even more upset with him.
"Pills? Didn't know he was taking any... Oh well! Good riddance!" She laughs again. Her voice is back to normal. Maybe I just imagined something earlier.
"I'll be up in my room." I say as I leave the living room. I brush my hand over the wood on the door frame while walking out. I pass the kitchen and reach the stairs.
I take out my phone and check my notifications.
50 missed calls from "dad ♡" the display reads. Oh wow... He's desperate. I press on his contact and change the name. "Stolas" I press a few more buttons to mute his calls.
He left me... and for a stupid imp? I mean is he dumb? He knows damn well that imps don't live that long.
I'm his daughter! Shouldn't I be more important?! But he almost got himself killed trying to save that stupid imp!
I close my door behind me and immediately start bawling my eyes out.
I fucking hate him!
