Hello! Welcome to my second fic. This is a short snippet of an AU I made in my free time that I wanted to share. For those of you who have read my other work (which is on hiatus right now,) "Not Bizzare, Just Us," you'd know that these are New Year's specials! So I have chosen one angst prompt and two fluff prompts. This is NOT connected to the other AU and it's just a random little side story.

There are mentions of Grief, Frustration, and Anguish in this one shot. Please be aware.

The clouds shrouded the sky, spilling their sorrows onto the roads and cities below in relentless streams. Their cries echoed with no sign of stopping. The wind howled fiercely, snapping branches and sending leaves tumbling through the air. Trees groaned under the force, their limbs creaking and swaying as the storm raged on.

Amidst the chaos of the pouring rain, the sharp thudding of footsteps broke through, splashing heavily against the rain-soaked ground. Her strides were urgent, her pace frantic. The rain clung to her hair, plastering it against her face and shoulders, a cold, soaking veil. Yet, she pressed on, her breath coming in short, uneven bursts as she drove forward through the commotion.

When she finally reached a bus stop, she ducked under its fragile shelter, her chest heaving as she tried to catch her breath. Droplets of rain slid down her face, mixing with the streaks of exhaustion carved into her features. The faint tinny sound of the rain hitting the metal roof above was oddly soothing, but her mind raced too fast to find any real comfort.

"Haah..." she exhaled shakily, yanking her phone out of her soaked pocket. Her fingers trembled as she tapped the screen, smudging the glass with water. The numbers glared back at her.

"Fuck... I'm going to be late," she muttered, her voice almost drowned by the storm. She shoved the phone back into her pocket and glanced up, her eyes catching the dim streetlights ahead.

Their glow shimmered faintly through the curtain of rain, distorted like a dream just out of reach. The wind swept through again, tugging at her damp clothes and whipping her hair against her cheeks

With a sharp inhale, she forced herself forward, cutting her brief break short. Her feet struck the uneven brick path with purpose, water splashing up with each hurried step.

Her curses came quietly, rolling off her tongue in frustration, the soft sound filling the lonely street with an echo of life. The rain continued its unrelenting symphony, drumming against rooftops and sliding down windows in steady streams.

The world felt heavy, the dark sky weighed down by thick clouds that clung stubbornly overhead. Somewhere far above, the storm rumbled faintly, a distant growl that mirrored her own simmering panic.

The moon had risen, pale and ghostly, peering cautiously through the gaps in the clouds. Its light spread faintly across the soaked cityscape, illuminating puddles and casting soft shadows that danced with the wind.

Before long, she finally reached her destination, but something felt off. Her hurried steps faltered, her pace slowing as unease prickled at the back of her mind. She scanned her surroundings, searching for anything out of place, her breaths coming shallow and unsteady.

Then, she spotted it-a car parked further ahead, its dark silhouette standing stark against the muted greys and greens of the drenched landscape.

For a moment, she paused, narrowing her eyes through the rain. Figuring it belonged to the neighbours, she brushed the thought aside and turned down a familiar green pathway. Normally, this path was vibrant, lined with flourishing plants that swayed gently in the breeze. But today, it felt lifeless. The rain had battered the greenery into submission, their leaves sagging under the weight of water. What once was a lush and thriving trail now appeared faded, the vibrant greens dimmed to a pallid, almost sickly hue.
