The Rise of Bi-Han and Kuai Liang
.
The Lin Kuei clan, an ancient group of assassins, trained their warriors from childhood, transforming them into cold, lethal killers. Among them were two brothers: Bi-Han, known as Sub-Zero, and Kuai Liang, his younger sibling. Both were skilled, but Bi-Han’s stoic demeanor and unmatched mastery over cryomancy set him apart as the deadliest warrior of the Lin Kuei. Kuai Liang, while equally talented, possessed a compassion that set him apart in a clan where emotions were seen as weaknesses.

The Lin Kuei’s mission often revolved around serving clients with no questions asked. Their latest mission involved retrieving an artifact called the Shinnok’s Amulet, said to hold immense dark power. Unbeknownst to them, the sorcerer Quan Chi had orchestrated this mission for his own sinister goals.

Hanzo Hasashi’s Tragedy

Hanzo Hasashi, leader of the Shirai Ryu clan, was a fierce rival of the Lin Kuei. Both clans had been at odds for centuries, competing for dominance as the world’s most feared assassins. Hanzo, known as Scorpion, was fiercely loyal to his clan and family. His life revolved around protecting them and ensuring the Shirai Ryu’s survival.

Quan Chi, seeking to manipulate the rivalry, framed Bi-Han for the massacre of the Shirai Ryu and Hanzo’s family. Using his dark magic, Quan Chi disguised himself as Sub-Zero and left a trail of frozen devastation, convincing Hanzo that Bi-Han was responsible. Hanzo, blinded by grief and rage, vowed vengeance against the Lin Kuei, especially Bi-Han.

The Fatal Encounter
.
As fate would have it, Bi-Han and Hanzo crossed paths during the retrieval of Shinnok’s Amulet. Hanzo ambushed Bi-Han in the temple housing the artifact, unleashing his fiery wrath. The two warriors clashed in a brutal battle, their rivalry fueled by Quan Chi’s deceit. Bi-Han, unaware of the accusation against him, fought defensively but ultimately overpowered Hanzo.

In a moment of hesitation, Bi-Han chose not to deliver the killing blow, confused by Hanzo’s seething hatred. However, Hanzo, consumed by vengeance, struck a lethal blow, killing Bi-Han. With his dying breath, Bi-Han cursed Hanzo’s name, further deepening the enmity between their clans.

The Final Conflict
.
With Quan Chi defeated, Kuai Liang turned his attention to his brother, now Noob Saibot. The confrontation between the two brothers was heartbreaking, as Kuai Liang tried to reach the remnants of Bi-Han’s humanity. However, Noob Saibot, consumed by darkness, rejected his brother’s pleas, choosing the path of vengeance and destruction.

In a devastating battle, Kuai Liang managed to defeat Noob Saibot but spared his life, hoping that one day his brother could be redeemed. Kuai Liang then turned his efforts toward uniting the Lin Kuei and Shirai Ryu, aiming to end the cycle of vengeance that had plagued both clans for generations.
