"it's just the way she's with me and the way Mako's with me is so different" Asami said

"You get princess treatment from Korra"

"Yes, and then I sat there and thought really hard to picture a life without her, I couldn't.. she's my peace" she shrugged

"Aww, that's too cute" 

"I don't know, she makes me feel validated" Asami smiled "and it's the way she says things, it's like she knows what to say all the time... sometimes her and Mako tell me the same thing but when she says it, I don't know"

She noticed her friend trying to understand her

"Ok, like yesterday Mako told me that I'm one of the best things to ever happen to him, Korra told me the same thing last night but said I am the best thing that's ever happened, you know what I mean?"

"Yeah, Korra's a sweet talker" Samantha said "you did tell me she's a flirt, so how do you know for sure she hasn't said that to anyone else?"

Asami thought about it. What if that's why Korra always knows what to say, because she has experiences with other women and knows what they want to hear. what if that's why Asami is struggling to pick.

"Maybe you're right..." Asami sighed and the cooks brought out the food.

"I'm not saying to not pick her, I'm just saying you gotta think about everything" Samantha said

"Goodmorning" she heard her father walk in "what's for breakfast"

"Dad, you should be laying down, I could've brought you breakfast"

"You are my daughter, not room service" Hiroshi said and sat down with the two girls as the cooks brought out a plate for him. "So what were we talking about?"

"Asami picking Korra over Mako, but I'm thinking Korra's just a sweet talker" samantha summed it up

"I haven't picked anyone yet" Asami furrowed her eyebrows

"I thought we like Korra"

"We do, I just want Asami to be confident in who she's picking, after all she's marrying this person" Samantha said making Asami choke on her coffee.

"Woah, pump the brakes, you at least got to give me a couple of years"

"Years? Asami you're 25, dating changes when you get older, before it would be 3 to 6 years dating the same person, now you have 2 to 3 years, and I don't think you wanna be in a wedding dress at the age of 40, and have kids at the age of what? 41? 42?" Hiroshi said

"ok 40 is crazy, that's 15 years away" Asami said "but you're right, yet still, all that's too fast"

"I know you're picking Korra wether you're in denial or not, but do you know what really is stopping you from continuing to pursue Mako?" he asked

Asami hadn't thought about it. "I don't know" she had to look back at their relationship "it's always the same thing with him" Asami shrugged "it's always him talking about work, or us just watching shows, he tends to argue a lot too"

"Did you voice that to him?" Hiroshi said

"Yeah, but it only leads to arguments"

"Ok, that's not good qualities of a husband" he said "now, why are you hesitant with Korra?"

"Her past I guess" she said "she's been with a lot of women and I guess it kind of makes me feel insecure" she shrugged

"Let me guess, you didn't voice anything to her because every time you voice something to Mako it ends up in an argument, that's the last thing you want with Korra" he earned a nod "well voice it"
