The Thing About Family

Start from the beginning

Then, when Buck has things figured out, when he feels like he's ready, and when Eddie's sure he won't become a rebound, Eddie will throw himself at Buck with all he's got. Sure, that may be a bit much, but he's hoping it'll work. Buck likes him, he at least knows that much.

"Exclusive? No. You can do whatever you want, and I'll do whatever I want."

"Yeah... okay..."

Eddie leans in gently pressing his lips to Buck's. When he pulls away, they're both smiling. "You know, you don't have to wear cologne to try and mess with my head. You could have just kissed me."

"Well I know that now."

"God, you're an idiot." He pulls him back in. My idiot. It might be a dangerous thing to think. Buck isn't actually his yet, but he will do everything to make sure he is.

Buck's tongue traces his lips and Eddie opens up for him just like he plans to do for him every moment from now out. However Buck wants him, that's how he'll be.

He had never really processed it the first time. They were just existing, and then it happened. Buck was next to him, and he just kissed him, then they were in his bed and... But he's making out with his best friend on his couch. Buck is his best friend, and his tongue is in his mouth and it feels... hot... and heavy, and just so damn good.

He goes back to kissing Buck's neck, tongue tracing his skin. He breathes him in. The cologne, and something that is just pure Buck underneath.

"Eds... we should probably pick a movie."

Eddie pulls back and sees a slight hesitant look on Buck's face, so he gives him a soft smile. "Yeah... okay."

"Maybe we could... ignore it a little later?" He smirks.

"I'm good with that." Eddie fully pulls away, not exactly sure why Buck stopped him, but now they established that it's no longer because he's avoiding it, Eddie doesn't really care much to know the reason.

"So..." Buck flips through the movies, "What do you want to do?"

"Thought we were watching a movie," Eddie laughs.

"No I mean... You said I can do what I want and you can do what you want and I was just wondering what it is you wanted to do..."

Honestly, Eddie wants to pretend to be interested in seeing someone else so Buck doesn't get scared off thinking he wants more, but then find some way to spend as much time with him as possible. Get it as close to 'more' without scaring Buck off. "I don't know..."

"Did you have fun on your date with the hot nurse?"

"I actually did... think I had more fun with you after though."

"Very funny... Did you ever text him?"

"No... I mean he texted apologizing again for leaving early and I just sent something back, but uhh... no. I haven't texted him"

"You should."

"Thought he made you jealous." He bumps Buck's arm. Buck still hasn't looked away from the screen.

"I uhh... no comment."

"Why do you think I should message him?"

"Well, if you had fun with him..."

"I don't know if I had fun with him... Don't get me wrong, he was nice, he was cute, he was funny... but I think it had more to do with being on a date where I felt like myself... felt like I wasn't performing more than it did with him." He believes that, he really does, because it just didn't feel like being with Buck. And that is the feeling he'll be chasing from now on.
