Star Trek: Spock's Point Of View.

Stardate 10715.2.

As of, it is stardate 10715.2. My name is S'Chn T'Gai Spock, science officer of the U.S.S Enterprise NCC-1701. I serve under Captain James T. Kirk, as his first officer, and I am 28 years old serving my third year in Starfleet. Many people know me as half Vulcan half human, which is true. My mother, Amanda, who is human, and my father, Sarek, as Vulcan. As of now, I am on the bridge, the rest of the crew as normal, we are currently starting the journey to the distress signal coming from Vulcan with eight other starships. It is about an eight hour trip, and we should arrive there at 1800 hours.

Knowing home, we rarely ever get calls or information from Vulcan. None the less a distress call. Which makes me confused about why we would just get a call now, especially ever since it was informed to be a distress call, which makes me somewhat concerned to know whats going on at Vulcan currently. We've always been informed to let Vulcan fight their own battles. Yet they still call the Federation. Which makes me not only concerned and confused, but worried and scared as well. For all we know Vulcan could be under attack by God knows what. Romulans? Klingons? The Borg? None of us know.

The last thing the distress call said to the Federation was that "they needed more than two ships to help with backup." Backup? Backup?! Now that I think about it they must be being attacked by an unknown source, why else would they need eight ships including the strongest one in Starfleet for backup? Surely it can't be anything light... For all we know it could be an ambush, perhaps Vulcan is already being attacked? Others of my kind kidnapped? It makes me worried to the core, as humans say. 

I asked the captain about this situation. None of us are sure about this situation, which is sort of a reliever, knowing some of the crew are more worried than me. Which makes me wonder... Why would they worry about it
