The days following their conversation in the park were filled with a mix of excitement and nervousness. Hyunjin couldn't stop thinking about what Minho had said, how his touch had sent shivers down his spine. It felt like everything had changed in a moment, and yet, it felt like nothing had changed at all. The familiar rhythm of their friendship, of the small, meaningful moments they shared, was still there—but now, everything had a new layer to it.

Hyunjin couldn't deny that he was happier than he'd been in weeks. He walked through the halls of school with a lightness he hadn't felt before, as though the weight of uncertainty had been lifted from his shoulders. And yet, there was an undercurrent of nerves running through him. What now? What did this mean for him and Minho? Would their friendship truly evolve, or would things fall apart when the reality of their feelings set in?

At school, their dynamic was subtly shifting. They hadn't discussed their talk in the park since that day, but the air between them felt different. Minho still maintained his quiet and aloof demeanor, but it was as if he was now more aware of Hyunjin's presence. He would glance at him when he thought no one was looking, a soft smile playing on his lips, and Hyunjin would feel his heart flutter.

But there was something else—a distance, a caution, that hadn't been there before. Hyunjin could sense it. Minho was taking things slow, unsure of how to proceed. It made sense; they were both navigating new territory. Neither of them had ever been in a situation like this before.

"Hey," Hyunjin said one afternoon during lunch, his voice light, trying to keep things casual. He was sitting next to Minho at their usual table, trying to ignore the butterflies in his stomach. "You've been pretty quiet lately. What's going on in that head of yours?"

Minho looked at him, and for a moment, Hyunjin thought he saw a flicker of something behind his eyes—something he couldn't quite place. Then, as always, Minho shrugged.

"Nothing much," Minho replied, a nonchalant tone masking whatever else might have been on his mind.

Hyunjin wasn't fooled. He had known Minho long enough to know when he was hiding something, but he didn't push. Instead, he reached for Minho's fries, a familiar playful glint in his eyes.

"Hey, I didn't realize you were sharing today," Hyunjin teased, grabbing a fry off Minho's tray.

Minho blinked, then smirked, giving Hyunjin a mock glare. "You're the one who always steals my food."

"I'm just testing how much you really care about your food," Hyunjin shot back with a grin, popping the fry into his mouth. He didn't look away from Minho as he chewed, daring him to say something.

Minho leaned back in his seat, crossing his arms. "You're lucky you're cute."

Hyunjin froze for a moment. His heart skipped a beat at the unexpected compliment, and he fought the urge to blush. Instead, he leaned closer to Minho, giving him a playful smirk of his own. "What's that supposed to mean?"

Minho shrugged, a smirk playing on his lips. "It means I'm letting you get away with stealing my food. Just don't expect it to happen every day."

Hyunjin laughed, trying to keep his cool, but inside, his heart was pounding. It was moments like these that made everything feel so much more complicated. He could tell that Minho was slowly warming up, but there was still a part of him that remained distant—like he was trying to protect something.

As the weeks passed, the school's annual talent show approached, and it quickly became a topic of conversation. Students were excited about the event, and even some of the quieter students like Seungmin and Jeongin started making plans. The competition was fierce, but the most talked-about performance was one that was still a mystery. Rumor had it that Minho and Hyunjin were going to perform a dance routine together.
