Chapter 1: unexpected reunion

Arin's POV

I took a deep breath. "So, I'm here, Slivermist Academy." I walked inside, the hallway filled with students. I took my schedule and read it:

"First class: Homeroom, Room 10

Second class: Science, Room 16

Third class: History, Room 8

Lunch

Last: Gym"

I sighed and started walking towards my class. "Where is Room 10?" I stood there, dumbfounded, for a while. I shook my head and looked at a nearby student, then walked towards him. He looked at me.

"Hi," he said.

"Hi," I replied. "Can you tell me where Room 10 is?"

He looked at me and said, "I was about to ask you the same thing." we standing there looking dumbfounded.

I chuckled. "Looks like I have to find it myself."

He grabbed my hand. "Can I join you?" he asked.

I nodded, and we started walking together.

After a while of walking, we still hadn't found the class. I sighed in frustration.

"Oh well," he said, "I forgot to ask, what's your name?"

I replied, "Arin ayaka."

He smiled and said, "My name is Alex Valentine."

I looked forward, then back at him. "Well, Alex, I think we really need glasses."

Alex looked confused. "Why?" he asked.

I pointed ahead, and Alex's eyes widened in surprise. Right in front of us was our class.

Alex put his hands on his head. "Arin, you're right! We need glasses. We walked around here almost 6 or 7 times, and the class was right in front of us the whole time."

We burst into laughter, and I said, "We're sure dumb."

Alex nodded, chuckling. We walked into the class.

"May I come in?" Alex asked, looking disappointed that the teacher wasn't there yet.

"Let's just take a seat," I suggested.

We looked around the class, and Alex spotted two empty seats at the back. "There are two seats available."

We sat down.

Three minutes later, the teacher arrived.

"Whoa, you all are here early," she said in amusement. "Whatever. Hello, students. I'm Mrs Bella, your Homeroom teacher. Let's get introduced quickly."

Mrs Bella looked at a student in front of us. "you girl introduce yourself.". That student stood up and introduced herself.

"Hello everyone, I'm Luminous Valentine. I hope we can all get along."

She sat back, and I glanced at Alex, who was laughing silently.

"What's so funny, Alex?" I whispered.

"Don't fall for her looks," he whispered back. "She's a goddamn devil."

Mrs Bella shouted, "Hey, boy beside the white hair, introduce yourself!"

Alex stood up, smiling after I tapped his back.

"Hello everyone, I'm Alex Valentine. Umm, that's all. Bye."

Alex sat back, looked at me, and I gave him a thumbs-up.

Mrs Bella said, "Hey, boy beside Valentine—"
