Chapter 15

Asami pressed the button to answer her "Send him up"

A minute later Mako walked into the office with a bag in his hand "Hey Asami" He said as he took a seat on one of the chairs in front of the desk.

"How's work?" She asked him seeing him empty out the to go bag seeing it was burgers

"it's alright" he said since he was on break right now "The chief has been on my ass though" he said as he passed Asami a cheese burger "you know I actually found out she's Opal's aunt"

"Really? I didn't know that" she said, at the same time she never talked to Opal before the Kai's birthday

"Yea, she did mention how they really didn't see or talk to each other since Opal and her family didn't live in republic city before" Mako said

"Yeah?" Asami said as she opened her meal. She took out the tomatoes putting them to the side and then continued working on papers

"Yeah, she mentioned how Opal started working here because of her sister" Mako said "well, adopted sister, she's a security guard here, Kuvira? I think"

"seems like you know more about my co-workers than me" Asami said still into the papers not really paying much attention to what he was saying.

"Well you got to know them a bit more at Kai's birthday, like Ginger, Opal, and Korra too" Mako said

"Yup" Asami was still staring at her computer

"You ok? You haven't touched your food" he said

"Yeah, I just want to get these papers in, that's all"

Asami picked at her food as she continued working on her computer. Mako continued talking about work.

"Actually" she interrupted mid conversation "I'm not ok" she said making him confused "there's something I need to tell you"

Mako was worried as many things kept playing in his head

"look, I just need you to listen, ok?" She earned a nod "During the last month of our relationship, I've been seeing someone else" she admitted

Mako stared at her not knowing what to say "you were cheating on me?" He was shocked "why? Who?"

"I didn't mean to, it was a drunken one night stand and it led to something more, I'm sorry Mako" she said

"Well, you're done seeing him right?" He asked "it's just us now right?"

"Mako, it's complicated"

"Woah, what the fuck is complicated?!" He raised his voice

"Cause, I think...I think I might having feelings for...her" She said looking down at her food to avoid eye contact

"A woman? Really?" He asked earning a nod. He scoffed and shook his head in disbelief "let guess, it's Korra, isn't it?" Asami didn't respond and he took that as an answer "I fucking knew it. The way you two were during the party, that fuck ass kissing game, the comments about her sleeping with her boss, and don't get me started when you two were outside by yourselves"

"Don't blame her, I'm the only one to blame"

"Like hell you are" he was pissed "And believe me, I'm going to have a nice talk with her"

"Mako, don't, this was all me, I didn't tell her about us, she didn't know till the party" Asami held his hand

"What now then?" He asked earning "me or her?"

"I don't know" she replied

"Asami, I love you so much, you're one of the best things to happen to me in my life"
