Wei Wuxian was seating in lotus position, but he wasn't meditating. Instead, he sat at the edge of his shared bed staring at his husband who was working, marking papers under the deem candle light seated by the tea table.
The older man had long told him he could sleep, and he was tired indeed. But little did his husband know he couldn't sleep without him; without his warmth, without his touch.
So instead of speaking those embarrassing words, Wei Wuxian stared at the man waiting for him to finish.
Seeing as time passed and bed time grew nearer, Wei Wuxuan grew tired. When he was younger, he would sleep at 1am and wake at 9am almost like a set clock. Now, after living with Lan Wangji for so many years, he grew accustomed to sleeping at 9pm and waking at 5am, just as systematically, 4 hours earlier than his original routine.
Ever since Lan Qiren had accepted him and he began to mend his relationship not only with the old man, but with the sect leader as well, much had happened. From getting married to having children with Lan Wangji - nobody could really care for our question the how of it because he was Wei Wuxian. They had also adopted despite this, the child? Lan Jingyi.
The two teenagers, him and Sizhui, prided themselves in being their children and did everything to live up to their expectations and constantly improve themselves despite not being their actual children. Their son, Lan Xiao, courtesy Zeyan was a master of the six arts and outstanding young master, while his twin sister Lan Xián was showing great interest for the arts and medicine. Their youngest of the five was Lan Shuang who had just recently gotten the courtesy name, Jingyun, the boy was quite the handful - the one that most resembled Wei Wuxian out of the three who had clearly been raised in the Lan clan!
A lot of things had changed in the last 30 years, Wei Wuxian had somewhat fixed his relationship with sect leader Jiang, though praise should mostly be given to Jin Rulan, because the man had even gotten married. Given birth to beautiful triplets to be cousins to Jin Ling. But sect leader Lan didn't stay behind, and a hier to the sect was finally born after his own marriage only after Wei Wuxian dragged him out of seclusion.
The world seemed to heal, with Nie Huaisang abd Jiang Wanyin being good friends, Lan Xichen still looking out for Huaisang despite everything, and Jin Ling being Wanyin's nephew, the four great sect's were finally at peace. For the first time in decades, centuries even.
But, back to their bedroom, Wei Wuxian grew tired, finally standing up and walking up to his husband. He needed to sleep. But he couldn't do it if the man insisted on working.
He sat next to the older, facing him directly. Both figures in the deemly lit room now sat next to each other, one staring at the other and the other staring at their own work. Their backs were both incredibly straight, now that they sat closely, not only their breathing, but even the pace at which they blinked was matched to the exact nanosecond. Creepily in synch.
Seeing as even the proximity didn't get him attention, Wuxian pouted before calling, "husband.." he called, and the man finally looked up at him. His voice came out different from what he'd intended, though he had meant to sound whiny and sad, he may have come of as needy and desperate, however much of a mistake that was only he could tell.
Seeing as those golden eyes finally looked at him, he suddenly forgot he wanted to complain. He simply stared at the older man, too enthralled to even realise the man inched closer until soft lips met his own.
Feeling the man's lips he was suddenly present again, but before he could kiss back the contact was cut and the man was back to his papers. He felt betrayed, speaking immidiatly, "You can't be like this, if you're gonna kiss me than do it properly" he sulked inching closer to the taller man.
