"A moment to- You're not flirting with me, are you?" A skeptical gaze came out of Fatespeaker as she stepped back slightly from Starflight.

"O-oh, n-n-no! It's just that I want to know what you think of your visions, no one else wants to-"

He caught himself, it would be quite reckless to let her know that he knew nothing about NightWings' powers, or how he didn't had any for that matter, so he had to lie, "no one can see the future the same way, so you having visions already makes you special..."

That was something too crazy to be true, I'm done for, she'll never believe that mush of words.

"You say I'm special?! That's so wonderful, and the first nice thing I've been told since I arrived here!" Fatespeaker was so eustatic that she starts dancing on her talons, well, that worked.

They looked out at the mouth of the cave entrance, few NightWings were seen on the air and fewer were dragonets, "if I can be honest, this place's way to gloomy, all my life I lived in a cave near the sea," her expression gazed to the horizon, but Starflight couldn't figure out if grief or sorrow was on her mind, "I thought that my home would be something more... charming... Oh sorry, I keep saying my thoughts out loud, though of course, you can read my mind."

Those words shocked Starflight more than they should, "oh, don't worry, I wasn't reading you," another lie, "tell me about your visions, how do they work?"

"Mhh, sometimes images come to me, something that's going to happen in the future, and if I concentrate very hard, I can see them more clearly," she began to explain enthusiastically, although later her face drooped.

"But I never know when they're going to be fulfilled, they can occur in a few minutes, or even weeks, and by the time they happen, I forget about them."

For Starflight this was enigmatic, all his life he always wanted to awaken his NightWing powers, but if he had them and they weren't as handy as Fatespeaker mentions, what would the point be to have them?

He snapped his thoughts shut, it's not proper for him to feel sorry for something he doesn't have. "Although I know that's going to change here! This place may not be so good as I thought it would, but I know that some NightWing out there will teach me how to use my powers"

She stopped to think, again she changed her mood abruptly it seemed intentional, I don't think she talks about this with her friends, or anyone really. He snapped his thoughts again.

Fatespeaker continued, "I hope one not so grumpy, could it be you? There's a reason why I had a vision when I saw you arriving down at the beach, we must be connected by destiny!"

"Oh, I'm sorry, I-" ow

Suddenly Starflight loses balance and his head starts spinning, Fatespeaker worries for him.

He manages to recover and explains his headache, something that happened when he fell in that cave, this alerted Fatespeaker "wait, do you feel like something connected within you?"

"What?" that was a strange question.

"I mean, if you felt like if you had a revelation, like if you just remembered something lost in your mind," what Starflight felt was more like waking up after sleeping upside down, yet her guess was close enough, so he nodded.

Wait, did she say she saw me arriving down at the beach? Would the tunnel back be over there?

He thought little about it, because she beamed at him "it's the same thing I feel when I saw you! We NightWings have a strong mental connection with each other, but you and I must have something special! Like our destinies are bounded together! Oh, oh! Have a vision, see the future! I don't know how you do it but do it, and tell me!"

Have a vision? In my life I had never had something remotely similar, although it may be different now, it may be that being in the NightWing kingdom my powers could be activated, worth a shot.

He remembered Fatespeaker's words, he concentrated on seeing an image come at him, his black mind puckered hard to generate something, not from the past, but from the future.

He opened his eyes and found himself in the cave with Squid, Viper and the SkyWing looking at him strangely, while Fatespeaker nodded to contain a beam of excitement, nothing out of the ordinary, he couldn't see anything different.

Although that was not true, another gaze around made him realize he was only counting 4 heads, he didn't think about it much, for inside the darkness of the cave, a silhouette was shown before him, the deep crimson eyes and heavy look reminded him of-

"Morrowseer!" Fatespeaker shouted practically in his ear, so Starflight jumped, and in doing so he saw what, or rather who, was looming in the cave's entrance, "You're finally back!"

All the weight in the world came to Starflight to be in the shadow of that NightWing, his gaze detailed with heavy red eyes made pressure on every scale of his, if he was made of glass, thousands of pieces of Starflight would be scattered on the cave's floor.

He began to speak in a deep voice, "This dragonet will come with me, he still has errands to do, you'll follow his example and wait like good dragonets," he began to pick him up with his wing and take him out of the cave.

"Oh, please! We have waited here all day! Please take us with you!" Fatespeaker protested when he saw him leaving the cave.

"Take her with you, that would be the best," shouted the SkyWing, and Viper began to open her mouth as Morrowseer turned at them in a sharp turn.

"Stay. Here!" He didn't looked away immediately, instead made a dramatically long turn and took flight, Starflight following him, not before saying no more but a goodbye talon wave to Fatespeaker.

They landed not so far on a flat surface, near a trail. Starflight waited for an answer, and got it without Morrowseer looking at him, "this complicates and advances things in an undesired way, I told you to stay in the cave, although escaping must be natural for you by this point."

For once Starflight felt proud to come out of Morrowseer's mouth, does that seem good to you? Before asking if he would be replaced, he assumed that he had already read his mind, because he answered his unspoked question, this time by looking at him.

"If you don't want us to throw you into the lava and replace you with that NightWing dragonet, I recommend you start opening that snout of yours," and his gaze suddenly met in front of Morrowseer's eyes, "tell me Starflight, what are the plans of the queen of the RainWings?"
