Freaky Love

Anna x James Part 1

On a cold and rainy Monday morning, you would be able find Anna walking to school alone, drenched and wet. While all of her classmates were taking the train, bus, or in their cosy car, she would still be slowly trudging through the muddy park to school. Her parents would be too busy to take her to school, so she had to get used to being laughed at by her classmate and even her 'friend' for arriving at school soaking wet. 

Today, it was like any usual rainy Monday. Suddenly, a strong gust of wind had come, which made her already broken umbrella fly away. "Excuse me! Is this umbrella yours?" A voice from behind her said. Anna turned around to see James, the only person in her class who defended her when she was made fun of. He was on his bicycle, without a coat or umbrella and was also drenched. Anna wasn't sure whether to pretend she didn't hear him, or to talk to him with a bright red face.

"H-hi James! Um, that is my umbrella, thank you," Anna stuttered. James walked to her with his bike. He handed her umbrella back. "You're quite wet today," he chuckled. Anna turned bright red, feeling betrayed that he of all people would laugh at her. She mustered the courage to try and fight back and not be humiliated by him. "Y-you can't really t-talk. You're d-drenched too."

"Sorry, I didn't mean to laugh at you. I was just... thinking how it was funny that you still would walk after being mocked by everyone else at school. You persevere a lot, don't you?" James said. Anna lost all of the anger and quickly came back to respect James for his kindness. She started blushing profusely and playing with her hair. "Y-yes I guess... thank you! Oh... um... and... sorry for keeping you here! You should go to school, otherwise you might be late. Bye!"

"Wait! But wouldn't you be even later to school than me? Why don't you hop on my bike? Then you can get to school quicker too!" James exclaimed, with a smile. Anna was shocked and happy at the same time, and felt butterflies in her stomach. "Really?" 

James nodded. "Hop on!" 

Anna sat behind James and asked, "Are you sure?"

"Of course! Hold on tight!" He replied. James started pedalling, and Anna started to warm up from his body heat. She tried to hide her face behind his back so that nobody else would see that they were together (and of course she wouldn't want him to see that she was blushing so much!). After a few minutes they had arrived at school and luckily they were not seen together, or at least they thought. Anna got off his bike. "Thank you so very much for the ride! I really appreciate it-"

"Oh ho ho, look who it is together," a voice interrupted. Anna instantly recognised whose voice this was. A girl emerged from the shadows, and it was none other than her 'friend', Lucy.
