"Ready?"

"Ready," she beams.

We walk out the door and head out for the day.

"Did you want to stop and get food?"

"Yeah, where?"

"Uh, I guess we can go get something when we get into town" I nodded in agreement.

Car rides like this with Shelby were always fun, it made me feel better about myself. We sung and danced obnoxiously to our favorite songs.

"Don't you dare look back just keep your eyes on me, I said your holding back she said shut up and dance with me!" We sang.

Shelby took my phone unlocking it as she opened Snapchat, making a video for my stories. She pointed the camera to me while I was singing and laughing.

We approached a red light, a car full of hot guys pulled up next to us. Shelby winked at me before rolling the window down, turning the volume up and singing loudly to them while recording. They flirtatiously whistles at us, while jamming out to the music as well.

I loved when she'd do this.

They screamed for our number, right on time the light turned green and I sped off. My favorite part. Shelby laughed loudly, she was the life of the party.

We died down, once we arrived to our destination.

"Let's stop at this burger place," she pointed, I pulled into the parking lot and parked my car.

Walking inside, we debated if we should eat in my car or at a table. Obviously, we went with the second option.

"Welcome to Barney's Burgers, what can I get you?"

"Uh, I'll have a cheeseburger with fries" I ordered

"I'll take the same thing," Shelby said

"And drinks?"

"Pepsi and a Sprite" I spoke up for us.
He was kind of cute, his name tag read Dylan. I wasn't interested in Dylan, but Shelby kind of was.

"Your total is $13.20" I handed him my debit card, he swiped it then passed it back. Thanking him, we walked away and took our seats.

"So, have you given thought about anything?"

"About what?"

"You know," she was referring to Kyle

"Who?"

"Kyle,"

"Kyle, who?" She laughed, causing me to do the same. "I'm just kidding, but no I really haven't"

"Take all the time you need, okay. No pressure"

"Thanks love," I warmly smiled.

We were in deep conversation about school again. I had cheerleading practice, while she played soccer. Although we were close it was always hard for us to hang out on the weekdays, sometimes practice runs late.

"Here are your meals" they guy from the cash register says.

"Thank you" we smiled.

"I never got your name," he smiles flirtatiously

"Kelsey," I simply reply.

"I'm Dylan," he informs me

"Hi, Dylan. Nice to meet you"

I clearly wasn't interested in him, he was cute but I thought I'd let Shelby have this one.

"This is my best friend, Shelby" I switch the topic on her.
