ORV: It's Not Your Fault (Part 1)

Start from the beginning

He stood up, taking his briefcase along with him.

"I'll hire a lawyer for you."

"You don't need—"

"Shut up. This is the least I could do. You'll be going out from here and meeting your family again as early as possible. If you want to repay me back, stay alive, idiot."

Your friend huffed and walked away. Your eyes were pooling with tears before you looked down, hearing the sound of the police, who would take you back inside your cell.

"Thank you."

He couldn't hear you, but next time, you'll make sure he would.

Before you take a drastic measure that could change your life forever.

Little did you know, your action has made a different impact from what you had expected. You don't want your family to suffer, but you are the cause of their suffering without you knowing.

"Lee Sookyung-nim, is it true the author of the book is your eldest child?"

"Your child is the one who has murdered your husband?"

"Kim Dokja-nim, did you ever visit your older sibling in prison?"

"Could you elaborate on how [Name] was before? Are they a violent person that made them take a measure to kill your father?"

The reporters are swarming at them. Lee Sookyung refused to talk while hugging Kim Dokja's shoulders tightly, securing the camera's view.

It is so hurtful to hear the blame, the curses, and the accusations that people who don't know the real story threw at you. As your mother, she wanted to shout at the people—you are the most precious, kindest, and loving person in this world.

She had met you in the prison, wanting to ask why you did such a thing. Why did you publish a book like that?

But she never thought to see you in this condition—so battered and weak. Her tears fall down in an instant.

"What happened to you, [Name]? Is.. is this why you refuse to meet us? Talk to me, my child. Please."

You refused to look up.

"Did you take the money?"

"[Name], please. I'll get you out of there. Wait, okay?"

"Did you take the money, mother?"

You looked up; your hollow eyes met your mother's teary one. Her lips were shaking when she could finally see your entire face clearly.

"God, [Name]."

"Just answer my question!"

You gritted your teeth.

"No, the money is yours. I wouldn't want to use it. You collected the money for your college. After you come out—"

"Don't be a simpleton. Get out of uncle's house and find a new one. Use that money in my account to buy one. Go away from our relatives and live. College?"

You shook your head with a mocking smile.

"I would never have the chance anymore. The money has no meaning for me anymore. Use it for Dokja or something. I don't need it."

You stood up and turned around, taking a deep breath.

"Don't come here again. This will be the last time. I won't be meeting you again. Goodbye, mother."

Lee Sookyung quickly stood up.

"What are you talking about? [Name]! Dokja really wants to meet you! He misses you so much! [Name], please. You can tell me anything, so please don't refuse our visit!"
