You cried, calling for your mother and brother. You want to go home and eat your mother's food and cuddle with your brother. You don't want to be here anymore.
Never in your life did you pray so hard that this nightmare would be over.
"Inmate [3807], you have a visitor."
You raised your head in difficulty by the calling of the guard, waiting patiently for you to follow him.
"I don't want to meet them."
You said firmly that the guard was not going to force you. Thus, he left you after that.
A visitor, it must be your mother. Sometimes, she would come with Dokja. Before, you would be willing to meet them, and it would always make your day.
But not after the beating started. You have lost count of how many times they came to visit, and you refused to meet them. You don't want to show your condition; you don't want to show how weak you were.
It would make it harder to survive in this place if you saw their face.
So, it is better this way.
"[Name] don't want to meet us again? Why?"
Kim Dokja frowned, feeling super upset by your decision. Lee Sookyung didn't know how to coax her youngest child.
"I'm sure [Name] had a reason. Next time, maybe we could meet with [Name]."
"Lie. It has been many times already. [Name]... didn't want to meet me."
Gritting his teeth and clenching his fists, Kim Dokja surpassed the tears that threatened to fall down. He missed you so much; why did you refuse to meet him and mother? Did he do something wrong?
"[Name] left us. And now refuse to meet us. I just want to know if [Name] is okay in there."
Lee Sookyung bit her lower lip and pulled Dokja into her embrace. She also wanted to meet you, but you always refused, making her heart feel uneasy.
Are you okay in there? Is there difficulty?
She hoped there was nothing bad that happened to you.

"It is already being edited and was ready to be published. So, just like our agreement, I'll transfer the money into your mother's account."
You looked up at your friend, the one who was willing to side with you and trust you with gratitude.
"Yes."
"Are you really going to keep it a secret from your mother, [Name]? I heard you have been refusing a visit from her and your brother."
You swallowed the lump in your throat.
"Look at me."
The bruises on your face were clear as day. The dry blood and the swollen eye on you that would be hurt to touch even for a little. You could see the sympathetic gaze of your friend on you.
"How could I meet them with this face?"
"[Name], they—"
"It is fine. As long as my family is away from harm. I don't want a speculation that might make Dokja be blamed. I can't let that happen. If they knew the truth, Dokja would suffer. I can't let my brother suffer when he has a bright future ahead of him."
You heard your friend let out a sigh, and he brushed his face frustratingly.
"Fine, okay. I'll make sure your family is safe. I promise. So, at least meet them and see for yourself. Don't torture yourself like this."
