1 | new beginnings

Marinette POV

"Marinette, I'm so excited!! We get to be roommates and live away from home!" Chole squealed in my ear as I was packing my things before our lives change.

Chloe Bourgeois, the daughter of the mayor of Paris, has been one of my best friends since I was a kid. We've had a couple disagreements about things in the past couple of years but through thick and thin, she was my ride or die.

"Chloe, I'm kind of scared for this big change. You know how close I am with my parents, especially since my mom is currently undergoing cancer right now. I don't want to leave her." I sighed while putting the last piece of clothing into the box.

"Yeah you're right, I'm sorry. Maybe we can go visit her today before we move in?"

I nodded slowly while pacing in my room, trying to remember if I was missing anything. The thought about my moms cancer is never something I want to think about. All I wanted to do was spend as much time with her before I leave. I don't want my dad to feel to overwhelmed trying to run the bakery and visit my mom every day.

"Hey Mom, Chloe is here with me too" I say softly while knocking on the door.

"Hi Ms. Dupain Cheng" Chloe smiled while holding a bouquet of flowers.

"Chloe, sweetie, you didn't have to" My mom said as she struggled to sit up straight and kiss Chloe on the cheek.

I sat next to her on the bed and held her hand with a sad emotion. "Chloe and I are leaving today for College. I'll visit you when I can, I promise. Dad will be here too." A tear shed from my eye.

"Marinette, you will do amazing things in college. I love you." My mom gave me a hug and a kiss on the cheek. I'm going to miss her dearly. My mom has been my biggest supporter ever since I was a kid. From my shitty fashion designs to the consistency of my terrible double axels on the ice, she never judged me for my mistakes.

Jetlag hit me like a bus. I was so exhausted but luckily, Chloe decided to let me fly with her on her private jet.

We arrived at our dorm building on campus. The scenery here was amazing. Chloe and I walked into our dorm and we were both surprised at how huge it was for a dorm. Two beds, One bathroom, two desks, and a decent amount of living room space.

"I call dibs on this bed!" Chloe jumped to the left side of the room. I smiled at her as I walked over to the right.

The majority of our first couple hours of being here were mainly just decorating and unpacking to get settled. We looked outside our window to see the commotion going on and why there were a bunch of people outside. It was a bunch of club tables! Chloe and I agreed to go downstairs to check them out and see what they had to offer at the school. The one thing we did want to do on our first day was party.

I love to party and so does Chloe, which is why we are simply perfect for each other. If I was scared to do one thing, she encouraged me to put myself out there. If Chloe was insanely drunk talking to random guys, I was the one to take her to the bathroom before she would throw up on them.

"Join Phi Kappa Pi! Meet new people! Be a brother!" One said, with blonde hair and green eyes. He's cute...

"Are you interested in the LGBT club??" Another approached with short blonde hair and blue eyes.

Chloe tugged on my wrist and pointed to a table. "Marinette! Let's join a sorority!!!"

"Be a sister! Join Kappa Kappa Gamma!" A girl said with brown hair and green eyes. "Hey! you with blonde hair and blue hair! You two look like amazing people who would love sisterhood."

I got a little intimidated by her invitation but Chloe had already written my name down on the sign-up sheet. "Chloe and Marinette? I'm Kenzie, the President of KKG. Nice to meet you guys! Where are you guys from?"

"Paris, France!" We both said.

"Wow, your English is pretty good! Hey, you two seem cool, me and the rest of my sisters are heading to the Phi Kap house later tonight if you guys wanna join us. They're hosting a welcome party for some selected incoming students arriving today." Kenzie smirked while nudging my shoulder.

"Omg, that sounds fun, I'd be down to go" I responded with excitement. I look around to see what Phi Kap is only to realize it was the table of guys that had the cute blonde boy behind it.

"Here, my number. Text me if you guys have questions about the party tonight! I'll be sending emails soon about recruiting for the sorority by tomorrow, I expect both of you there." Kenzie handed us her contact card.

We waved goodbye and walked around more. A table caught my eye. The women's figure skating team. The whole reason why I came to this school was because I got a scholarship from figure skating.

"Hello! Are you interested in joining the figure skating team?" One said with short blue hair. "Wait, are you Marinette Dupain-Cheng?"

"Yes, I am! I just arrived today!" I said with a big smile on my face.

"No way! I've been expecting you! I'm Kagami, Captain of the figure skating team. I was the one who saw your performance live and told the school to offer you a scholarship here." She gave me a hug and jumped out of excitement. "I'll see you at practice this week then?"

I nodded and gave her a thumbs-up.

Chloe and I headed back to our dorm and decided to take a nap before tonight's party.

This is going to be an interesting 4 years of my life.

Hey! So this chapter was a little rushed and boring but I promise you guys I have something planned for the plot so hopefully you will enjoy this story as much as I am writing it. I decided to make an adrienette au because I've been feeding into my miraculous addiction and honestly I am so sick of waiting for the new season.

I used to write fanfics consistently back in 2015 but now I feel like I need to write again. I really hope Wattpad didn't die or anything because I miss seeing funny comments on my stories.

Anyway I really hope you enjoy this the rest of this book!
