Chapter 1

"Can you braid my hair?!" She yelled again while slamming her fist on my door. "Sure, can I finish showering now?" I sighed and rubbed my palms on my face then over my head. I didn't hear my sister's voice again so I assumed she left. I wrapped my body and hair in towels before leaving the bathroom, I really don't like the school uniform, black and blue, I've been wearing this same outfit my whole life.

"Eliza will drive us to school, mommy said she has work and she can't take us Aurora said while I braided her hair, she was sitting on the floor while I sat on the couch.

"Okay, is your lunch ready? Or are you gonna eat at school?" I asked finishing up the last strands.

"Sammy? I'm gonna tell you something and you promise me you won't tell anyone" Aurora stood up and turned to look at me.

"You know mommy makes the best cookies ever" that's true mom was the better cook, and her cookies were the best.

"Yes?"

"I sell the cookies she makes me to my classmates and sometimes I use the money to buy snacks at the cafeteria" Aurora used her vampire speed to go bring her backpack, she opened it and showed me the wrinkled dollars
at the bottom of her bag. I stared at my sister in surprise and disbelief.

"What? It's business" she zipped her bag and made her way to the door, I chuckled softly a little impressed with Aurora.

My sister and I made our way outside where Eliza was waiting for us in front of the SUV, she nodded and opened the back door.

"Morning" I said looking at the taller woman, she smiled and shut the door when both me and Aurora got in.

"How's Margaret?" Eliza looked at me through the rearview mirror before focusing back on the road.

"She's alright" Eliza wasn't the best at holding conversations, but I always made sure to talk to her and check on her.

It put my earphones and focused on the music playing, before I can get comfortable and try to go back to sleep the door opened.

"We've arrived" Eliza looked unbothered with the million stares she was getting from everyone, she was used to it everytime she goes out with my mom.

I grabbed Aurora's hand as we both made our way inside the school, I made sure Aurora was in the right department before making my way back to mine.

"Your sister is literally the cutest" I heard a voice say behind me, I rolled my eyes at the sound of my classmate. His name was Henry and he's been in my class since I first started, we weren't bestfriends but we tolerated each other.

"Stop being a creep" I shoved him out of the way. he was a tall muscular man and I was sure he lets me push him around.

"I wasn't being a creep, she's so cute. Actually he wrapped his arm around my shoulders and I didn't bother to push it away. I used to hate when he did it but he was too stubborn and kept on trying until I gave up.

"I heard Chucky's back from being suspended, now you get to finish that project." Henry stated making me roll my eyes, did I mention that everyone started calling Lola Chucky since the day my mom barged in our class? No? Well now you know? And she hates me for it.

"Yeah don't remind me, I swear I'm gonna fail that subject because of her speaking of the devil, Chucky was standing at the end of the hallway
in her boy school uniform since she was
intersex and wasn't afraid to hide it. Not that anyone could shame her for it, she'd break their face before they open their mouths.

She had a guy pressed against the lockers, her forearm against his throat. I wanna live to see the day where she wasn't picking on someone.

I hate talking to her or going near her but she's going to make me fail my class and get a bad.

I shoved Henry's arm away and made my way to where she stood. I cleared my throat to catch her attention. She gave me a look before slamming the guy one more time.

"Can I help you?" She said sounding annoyed,

"We have a project to finish, it's half of my mark and I'm not about to fail this class because of you" I crossed my arms on front of me and waited for her to add something to what I just said but she stared at me with a disgusted look.

She let go of the guy and pushed him out of the way then focused her attention on me.

She took a step forward to try to intimidate me but of course Henry was there, he put his hand on her shoulder to stop her from going further.

She glared at his hand then back at his face.

"I'm going to break it if you touch me again" they were almost the same height with Henry an inch or two taller, she shoved the big guy back then looked at me, she was about to say something
but I cut her off.

"If you're late after school I'm gonna leave and tell the teacher you didn't do your part." I threatened and walked past her to my class, she was such and asshole, so unbothered with the consequences of her actions, so full of herself, she always gets suspended or sometimes fined for almost committing murder then they let her go, she comebacks here because her dad is rich.

I can't wait to finish what's left of this school year so I can get rid of her forever.
