Project Shadow

Part 10: Testing S and Shadow's powers/G.U.N's Mission/Hope

The next morning Shadow and Stella were both put into a testing chamber, while Maria and Gerald were both standing behind safety glass. 

"After the recent events with specimen Shadow the hedgehog and Serial Designation S at the Space colony ARK I've decided to run test on the development of the creatures."

"This is a high security room, so anything that happens inside should not integrate the rest of the space colony." Shadow and Stella both look at each other, with Shadow had a sympathetic look towards Stella.

"Shadow will go first, so Shadow, please point your hand to one of the targets and try to shoot it from where you are." Gerald says. 

Stella takes a few steps back from Shadow to give him some space as the three targets all came down.  Shadow gets into position and points his hand out and looks away, but when nothing was happening, he looks at his hand then he looks towards Maria and Gerald. 

"Focus Shadow."

"Shadow, imagine your energy is running through your hand, I know you can!" Maria suggests. 

"Shadow." Shadow then looks towards Stella. "Just imagine that you are saving the one person you care about, and the target is someone who is holding them hostage. That always works for me. Try and see if it'll work for you." Stella suggests. 

Shadow nods and he then starts to warm up and he points his hand out again, but this time he imagines that Stella was being her hostage by some bad guy and was about to shoot her head off.

Suddenly his hand starts to glow green, and a powerful source was sent straight towards the target. Stella was ducking but she then stood back up. While Maria help keep her grandfather steady. 

"Well, I wasn't expecting that. Although I was expecting not to expect something, so it doesn't count. Stella it's your turn." 

Shadow looks at Stella who looks like she was a little bit scared. It would be hard for anyone else to notice because of her tough persona, but Shadow could see that she was. Shadow walks up to Stella. Stella gets down to Shadow's Level. 

"Hay, don't worry you'll be fine, and they'll be too." Shadow says calming down Stella. 

"I know, I'm just nervous. What if they find out the truth." Stella explains. 

"You'll be fine Stella." Shadow whispers Stella blush. Meanwhile the other two were confused as to what the two were talking about. So, she can do the test.

"Are you alright Stella?" Maria asked. Stella nods and stands up and walks towards the middle, while Shadow walks away but always look backed back to check on Stella. Shadow was now in the same room as Maria and Gerald. 

"Stella, I need you to do the same thing with your hand." Gerald explains. Stella nods and points her hands towards the targets a yellow symbol appears on the tip of her fingers, and she sends out a more powerful blast than Shadow. 

"Can I leave the room now?"

The leader of Gun was watching back through the two clips of when Shadow and Stella used their powers. 

"Every day, more and more of our soldiers are dying in battle. The specimens are ready to fight. Go!" He commanded. 

"We have no more time. Think of how many men would still be here if Robotnik had finally cooperated! Your instructions are clear. Leave no trace! Neutralize anyone on ARK who knows about project Shadow and robot. Bring the Hedgehog, robot and Professor to Earth. We'll start to the training at once."

"Yes?" A man says. "Are we aloud to open fire in case anyone resist sir?" Another one asked. Their leader only laughs. 

"Then how do you expect to neutralize the Ultimate Lifeform and a killer robot?" He asked sarcastically.

Back on ARK:

Shadow was in his test tube, while Stella was standing with her screen black with a few wires hooked up to her, while Maria and Gerald were looking at the two. 

"Back in the sealed room... Did you already know they could do that, Grandpa?" Maria asked.

"Shadow is a hedgehog made of synthetic Chaos energy its's impossible to predict of what he would become, but we could've imagined what he's capable of. But Stella on the other hand... She's a different story I have no idea what the matter with her is." Gerald explains. "Shadow's body keeps changing between a super hedgehog and to a regular one."

"That's why you can't decode it. It's like he's always changing. He's not a regular hedgehog or super. That's why he's like this." Maria explains. 

"Precisely Robotnik, but it makes decoding him even harder to do. It's impossible to read a sentence if they're always moving around. Unless... Unless we make it stop." Gerald explains.

Once everyone was in the large room Stella shows the others 2 thick golden rings. 

"Inhibitor rings, but you can also call them your one-way ticket to Earth." Stella then hands Shadow one of the rings.

"These rings will be able to keep your powers and your DNA as they are right now and prevent you from changing from a normal hedgehog and a super one. But for the next 24 hours you can't overuse your power just so it allows your body to get used to the feeling. But tomorrow it's going to be normal." Stella explains.

"If that's my chance to heal Maria... It's like a dream. Thank you, Stella, but what about you?" Shadow asked. 

"I've sorted that out. Just a little problem with my.... programing." Stella explains.

"And Later I'll take a sample of your DNA, to access our progress" Gerald explains. A few mins later when Gerald went to go do more experiments the three teens were left observing Earth.

"Doesn't it look closer than it used too?" Shadow asked. 

"Yeah, it does." Stella agrees 

"I think so too. Soon this place with nothing, but a memory of where I've used to live and where I met my two heroes." Maria explains. 

"The place I was born... and where I got my purpose." Shadow says. 

"The place where I met you guys and the place where I finally feel like I belong." Stella finishes, but her face showed guilt and sadness.
