Sunday.
Same old things, same old base, same old everything. Scout slowly rises from his bed, sighing ever so slightly as his feet reach the floor. What the hell was he gonna do today, and why?
He makes his way down the steps, his hair messed up. As he reaches the bottom of the stairs, he could smell the faint scent of coffee, toast and cigarette smoke. Some of the mercs were already up, early birds, like him. He walks into the kitchen, seeing Sniper positioned at the coffee machine, Engie eating toast, and Pyro dumping some sort of glitter on their pancakes. Typical.
"Mornin, Scout."
Sniper's Aussie accent rings out, Scout's face flushes a very un-noticeable red, nobody picking up on it. Oh god, was he..getting a crush on Snipes?
"Uh- hey, Sniper."
Scout responds quietly, Sniper nodding in response, he focuses back on the coffee, Scout going to the drawer full of granola bars. He didn't eat much, so that was enough for him, Engie smiles to greet Scout, who nodded back, going over to the living room and seeing Demo, who was zoned out. The guy wasn't usually awake this early, Scout just shrugs, sitting down a little further away from Demoman.
A few minutes later, Sniper emerges from the kitchen, sitting next to Scout, who awkwardly clears his throat, looking over at the TV. Nothing much was going on on it, just the news and weather. It wasn't too important to Scout, or really Sniper, but they were both a little awkward for a while, until Soldier comes in, drags Scout out and asks an extremely stupid question.
"Did you or did you not eat the bread?!"
Soldier's voice rings out, Sniper facepalms after hearing that.
"Solly, I didn't-"
Scout says, Soldier squints ever so slightly, before walking away, keeping his eye on the kid. Scout slinks back into the room, sighing slightly.

It was around afternoon time, Scout went out for a small walk. Another moment of peaceful solitude for him, not much chaos had broken out within the base, but he just felt like he needed a break from being there. He walks past a tree, before stopping and going back to it. It looked climbable, to him at least, so he approaches, looking up at the tree, and calculating where to put his feet, before he hoists himself up into a bit where he wasn't visible to the public.
Sniper walks out, going the same way Scout was going, before getting stopped by Demo.
"D'ye know if we ran outta alcohol-"
Demo asks, a hiccup escaping after, Sniper shrugs.
"Don't drink, mate."
"Oh- er..okay."
Demo walks off, towards where the rest of the group was. Sniper resumes walking down that same path, only to look up at a tree and spot a bit of red poking out from the leaves. Scout. Scouts shirt, 'of course he would've gone up there..' Sniper thinks, before calling up to him.
"Oi! I can see you there, you ankle biter!"
Scout looks down, sighing, before waving at the guy.
"Heya, Snipes."
Sniper smiles ever so slightly, before climbing up the tree too.
"Things getting too much, eh?"
He asks tentatively, Scout nods slightly, feeling a fuzzy sensation in his stomach when Sniper sat that close to him, he looks up at the sky. It wasn't a cloudy day, in fact, it was slightly warm, the sun shining brightly and only a few small clouds slowly drifting through the atmosphere.
"Nice day, isn't it?"
Scout asks, wanting to break the short silence between the two of them. Sniper nods, it was a nice day.
"Yeah, it really is."
Was his short response back, crossing his legs and looking up at the sky, mirroring Scout.

They'd been there for god knows how long together, so long that the sun was starting to set. Crazy to think they'd never really spoken, or been close, until now. They'd just found some sort of connection with each other, and it wasn't going to break any time soon.
"It's getting late, you wanna head back? Or d'you want to come back to the camper with me?"
Scout perks up after hearing that suggestion, immediately nodding.
"Yeah, I'd uh- hah, come with you."
Sniper laughs a little at Scouts small stutter, before climbing back down from the tree, the shorter guy following suit. Once they got down onto the path, they almost immediately get moving, so they wouldn't be left out in the cold.
Getting back to the camper, Sniper takes off his hat that he usually wore, since he didn't really wear it inside, Scout kept his baseball hat on though, he liked it. He didn't wanna take it off.
"You can sit down if you want."
Sniper says, Scout nods and walks over to the couch. Everything then hits him like a ton of bricks, he was alone with Sniper, not just outside, but in the guy's camper. Sniper's living space. He starts overthinking, his face burning a reddish colour, before seeing that Snipes was coming to sit down next to him. As soon as he felt him sit down next to him, the weight shifting slightly, he tries to stop blushing.
"So, what's it like being an offence class?"
Sniper suddenly asks, Scout thinks for a few minutes, before shrugging.
"Not much, just hit and run tactics. What about your class..uh- a-"
Scout pauses, racking his brain to remind himself what team Sniper was classed in.
"A support class?"
Sniper then responds with,
"I mean, all I do is wait for the right time to strike, then there goes the bullet. Simple as that.."
Scout listens intently, nodding. They sit in a comfortable silence for a while, before realising it was around 2 in the morning.
"I- uh..gotta go."
Scout stands, giving Sniper a small wave.
"Bye, see ya tomorrow."
Scout smiles, opening the door to the camper and walking out, a small blush growing on his cheeks.
