It was a normal day in 2fort, nothing much going on as it was a Saturday. Scout was sitting alone, on top of the base's roof, staring off into the sky. He was watching the sun go down, knowing he would probably be disturbed by some kind of distraction, making him cherish these small moments he had to himself. Alone.

He wasn't really one for being alone, but sometimes he just needed it. Needed it from all the chaos, needed a break from all the drama, and just needed time to think. Of course, someone had climbed on top of the roof, he wasn't registering who it was, until the voice rang out. Sniper's accent, he liked Sniper.
"Alright, mate..?"

Scout looks up from his solitude, giving a silent nod. He goes back to staring at the stars, before asking a question.
"Do you ever..get this weird feeling when you think, we're just floating around in space?"
Sniper pauses for a moment, seating himself beside the shorter man, pondering his question.
"Hm, sometimes. But, it's cool if you think about it."
Scout just shrugs at that response.

They sat in a comfortable silence for quite some time, Sniper studying the stars, before pointing out one.
"There's one of the stars for the Big Dipper."
Scout looks up at where Sniper was pointing, looking at all the stars after that one. It was in fact, the Big Dipper.
"That's pretty cool, Snipes."
Scout murmurs, looking slightly tired, but he didn't want to leave yet. Not yet. Not when Sniper and him were alone, together.

Sniper picks up on Scout's tiredness, speaking up.
"Mate, you should really get some sleep."
Scout doesn't respond for a while, but, as if on cue, he yawned. Sniper chuckles.
"That says it all."
Scout pulls a face, protesting.
"Nuh-uh, I ain't tired."
He even shakes his head, as if trying to prove something. But of course, Sniper doesn't buy it.

"...fine, I'll admit, I'm tired."
Scout says, Sniper just laughs.
"Yeah, well, I better get going anyway. I'll be in my camper."
Sniper concluded, going to the edge of the roof and carefully climbing down, Scout focusing his attention on the guy, watching as his silhouette fades into the distance, before climbing off the roof himself.

***

It was around 12 AM when he got through the doors, nobody was down on the first floor at the moment, it was too late for that. Scout tries to stay as silent as he possibly could, creeping up the stairs and missing all the creaky spots, reaching the landing and doing the same all the way to his room. He very slowly opens the door, and tip-toes inside, turning around and carefully shutting the door behind him. He stretches, before going to his chair, where he would usually throw his nightclothes on, which was a hoodie and leggings. He was slightly uncomfortable with when he wore shorts, that's why he had leggings instead.

He changes into his nightclothes, before walking to the edge of the bed, and climbing in, a small yawn escaping his mouth as he pulls the covers over him.

——meanwhile——

Sniper walks into his camper, switching the lights on. It took time before his eyes could properly adjust to the sunlight, but eventually they did. He walks over to the room that contains his bed, getting into whatever he would usually wear at night, which wasn't known to anyone really, as he didn't sleep at base.

He walks over to the bed and sits on it, staring at the wall for a couple of seconds, zoning out. He snaps out of it, however, and swings his legs up onto the bed, not bothering to even get under the covers, just closing his eyes and drifting off to sleep.

(A/U¡! The next chapter may take a while, since I have a load of things to do atm!)
