Chapter 1
This is the story about the Valley Moon Pack, even though it is a small pack it's friendly. I was born there, when I turned four things started to go so bad. That's when my grandmother died, rogues attacked and killed her while she was trying to save me. She was holding me in her arms when the rogue jumped on her, it was horrible.
I miss her, she is the one who gave me my nick name. At her old pack, just before she came to live with my Grands at his pack, she had a kitten. She had to leave her behind. When I was born, she said I purred like her kitten, so they call me Kitten.
We didn't have a Luna and grandmom, being the female Beta, took over the position. Her death tore the pack apart. Damn near killed Grands, he even stopped being the Beta.
That left my father takin over his position. Like it happens in most packs, the Beta and Alpha's children grow up together. Just like my parents, when they were old enough to find their mates both families were excited to unite both families.
Two years after the first attack, the rogues decided to try to take the pack out again. This time it was worse than the first attack, so many of us died. My dad, John, fought so hard, and my mom, Cathrine, fought alongside him. The rogues, they just kept coming. Grands fought, protecting the pack, even though he stepped down as Beta. That is when I lost my mom and dad. Grands almost died also; he was in the hospital for over a month.
"Kitten, you are going to stay with me. You are too special to let anything happen to you." My Uncle Sam, the Alpha, commanded. I was six when I moved in, that was until Grands got better.
"She will live with me, that is my final word I will have on the subject."
"Beta Jeremy, you will not speak to me like that. Do you understand?"
"You may be the Alpha, but that is my granddaughter, and you have no say."
"I am her uncle, and she is the last of our blood line. She needs to be with me."
"Sam, if you go against me, I will take this pack from you. You and I both know I can do it. You can't fight for shit, and you are weak. I will not allow her to be weak like you."
"Fine you raise her, but you stay on pack ground. She is to take my place when she comes of age. If I have too, I will have what is left of the warriors take you down."
"I have trained most of them they will not fight me, but we will stay on pack ground, far out."
"Do you have a place in mind? Jeremy, they are looking for something, you and I know what it is."
"My hunting cabin by the pass, we just redid it a year ago, we will be comfortable there."
"That is not the issue. I know you will be comfortable, but can you protect her?"
"One hundred percent better than you can." By the end of the day, we were packed and on our way to the hunting cabin.
"Grands, why are we leaving the pack?"
"You, my granddaughter, need to be safe. The pack is not a safe place for you."
"I am going to miss my friends." By the end of the day, we reached the cabin. "How pretty, is that our house?"
"This is our home my dear girl. You will learn to fight and survive growing up here." I didn't understand what my grands meant by that right then and there, but I soon learned.
The cabin was cute, it had all the modern appliances, a decent size living room and two bedrooms with a bathroom attached to each of them. The one thing that is different about the place is it has two fireplaces. Grands says it is because he gets cold, and his old bones can't take the cold that well. We have everything we need here.
