Lexi called me when she got back but we ain't talk for long. I've been busy as fuck with work no shit so ion be into everybody. I came in the house from work, mama had cooked dinner.
Dj: Ma
I yelled lookin for her. My phone vibrated my hip. I looked at it and didn't recognize the number
Dj: Yea
Amber: I feel like an idiot calling you but I miss us.... I miss you
Dj: Amber... Get off my phone
I hung up and tossed my phone on the couch and went upstairs wondering why my mama ain't responded to me yet.
Dj: Ma
I put my head in the crack of her door. She was layin in the bed. I went over to check on her. I put my finger to her nose to see if she was breathing when I felt air I relaxed. I kissed her forehead then turned around to walk out. She coughed
Janet: Dj you'll bring me some water
Dj: Yea manna
I went and grabbed her a cold bottle of water out the refrigerator then took it to her. She took a sip then rolled back over
Janet: Thank you baby
Dj: You ok mama
Janet: Yea just tired is all
Dj: Well if ya need anything else let me know

I left out her room leaving her door opened in case she needed me. I took a shower then checked on her again. I went downstairs fixed me a plate and sat on the couch and watched some stupid as movie on SyFy. I felt my phone vibrated I looked down it was Lexi.
Dj: What up
Lexi: I wanna have lunch with you tomorrow
I was flipping thru channels
Dj: Iight where
Lexi: I guess the mall we can do a little shopping and eat
Dj: Iight baby girl what time
Lexi: We can meet at Cumberland by eleven
Dj: See you tomorrow
We hung up. My moms came downstairs

I turned around

I say standing up. She shook her head
Janet: No I'm fine
We walked in the kitchen

I rinsed my plate off and put in the dishwasher then started cleaning the kitchen

She waved me off

I finished cleaning the kitchen and kissed her cheek

I went upstairs and climbed in my bed and passed out. I woke up the next morning it was 10:30

I got up and took a shower. I got dressed and headed downstairs

Dj: I just woke up late ima be there

We hung up and I gave the phone to my moms
Janet: Bring back some groceries

She walked upstairs and I grabbed my keys and left. I pulled up in Cumberland and parked then called Lexi

Lexi: By the food court... in front of chik-fil-A
Dj: Don't move be there in a minute order me a chicken deluxe meal

I got out my truck and headed towards her. She was sitting down with my food when I got to her.

She hugged me and kissed my cheek

Lexi: I missed you and I feel like we needed this

Lexi: I kno that a lot has happened and I feel like Ive been living a lie
I looked at her funny after taking a bite out of my chicken sandwich

She looked up and I saw August out the corner of my eye

I walked away. Ion have time for the arguing, excuses or the bullshit I just assume walk away. I get to my car and hear Lexi yelling my name to get my attention. I open the door and just when I was bout to get in she was right there.

I got in the car, shut the door and started the engine.

She stepped back and watched me pull off... My phone goes off and it was Amber ass again

She turned over and rolled her eyes
Lexi: I'm not sleep... I can't sleep

I pulled her close to me

I looked at the tv guide

She sat up and played in her hair
Lexi: Let me go take a shower

We got up and she went in the bathroom. I went in my closet and found me something to wear. I ain't gone lie I'm a little nervous to what this nigxa gone say but after this ima just say fux it. I walk back in the room Lexi was sitting on the bed wrapped in a towel and puttin on her lotion
August: I'm bout to jump in the shower
Lexi: Ok baby
I took a shows then got dressed. Lexi was downstairs do I put on my shoes and grabbed the keys to the range. I went downstairs she was in the kitchen standing against the counter drinkin a glass of orange juice. She sat the cup down and I saw her hand shaking
August: Baby girl ya gotta chill
She took a deep breath
Lexi: Ugh I kno I hate he does this to me
I laughed
August: Its kinda cute on you tho
She pushed me and laughed

We hop in the Range and head to Cumberland. We walked around for a good forty five minutes and did some shopping

August: Call him
She pulled out her phone and called but he aint answer
Lexi: Ima call mama
She put it on speaker
Janet: Hello
Lexi: Hey mama
Janet: Oh hey baby
Lexi: Sorry I haven't been by in a while
Janet: I understand baby girl
Lexi: Ill definitely come see you tomorrow

She smiled

Janet: He was just in the shower about twenty minutes ago

They hung up. She put her phone in her pocket then looked at me.

August: Lets go eat then
We went to chik-fil-A then sat down.

Lexi: Yea where are you gonna go when he gets here
August: Prolly on the other side and once he sits down I'll come back

We ate our food and I got up and threw our trash away. I walked back over to her she was on the phone

She laughed

She shook her head and went to order his food. I sat down at a table across the way when Dj walked up. I knew she missed him but I guess that's my cue. He sat down and I got up and walked over to them. He stood up.

He walked away, she ran after him and I grabbed our bags and ran after her. She stopped him at his car and I stood on the sidewalk

We get back to my place and I start packin for Vegas. Lexi was propped up on a pillow sitting Indian style watching Tv her phone started ringing

I looked back

August: Put her on speaker

Janet: Whatever you did Dj don't wanna see you

They hung up and she slide off the bed and went into the bathroom and closed the door...
She tried to drown out her cryin, turning on the water but I still heard her. I wanted to go in but what could I say. I felt like I was no help and this all my fault. I can only imagine how she was feeling.
