Her Voice

Prologue

Orm was on a video call with her friend, catching up after moving to the U.S. with her family. During the conversation, Orm unexpectedly spotted Ling, a beautiful stranger in the background. She was captivated by Ling's beauty, developing a crush without meaning to, and found herself focusing on her for the rest of the call. Afterward, Orm asked her friend who the person in the video was, and her friend explained that Ling was her cousin's colleague. That was the last time Orm saw Ling—until months later.

When Christmas came around, Orm decided to visit the Philippines for a five-day vacation and reunite with friends. During another video call with that same friend, Orm saw Ling again, this time a bit tipsy, celebrating the holidays. The memory of her first encounter with Ling came rushing back, and coincidentally, it was the day of Orm's flight back home.

After arriving in Cebu, Orm spent time with family before heading to her friend's house. To her surprise, Ling was there, one of her friend's cousin's close friends. Meeting Ling in person left Orm in awe—she was even more stunning than on video. Feeling nervous, Orm decided to have a drink to build up the courage to ask for Ling's social media handle. She succeeded and even asked for a selfie as a keepsake.

Once back in the U.S., Orm initiated conversations with Ling, and over the next four months, they grew closer, realizing they had so much in common. Their conversations were genuine, and without realizing it, Orm had fallen deeply for Ling. They eventually planned to meet during the summer for a beach trip, excited to spend time together.

When summer came, they met again and traveled to Siargao, one of the Philippines' famous beach destinations. They didn't plan anything romantic, just a fun getaway as close friends. They spent the entire day surfing together, enjoying every moment. 

Later that night, they decided to have a few drinks and soak in the lively atmosphere of Siargao. They met some handsome guys and joined them for some fun, letting the good vibes flow.

However, Ling, still struggling with her gender identity, felt a pang of jealousy when she saw one of the guys getting too close to Orm. The guy wrapped his arm around Orm's shoulders, and Ling felt an anxious knot in her stomach. Though another guy was acting similarly toward her, Ling couldn't stop her growing unease. With a heavy heart, she suddenly called Orm and asked to excuse themselves from the group. The guys agreed, saying they'd catch up with them later.

Once inside their room, Ling, still gripped by her emotions, pulled Orm's wrist a little too tightly, causing a twinge of pain. Ling turned to face Orm, and without warning, she kissed her. Orm was left speechless—it was her first kiss with a woman, and she was overwhelmed by how soft Ling's lips felt. Seeing the jealousy and hurt in Ling's eyes, Orm wrapped her arms around Ling's neck and kissed her back. The kiss quickly became more intense, and the two of them shared a passionate and intimate night together.

That night became a memorable turning point for both of them. 

When Orm returned to the U.S., she couldn't stop thinking about Ling and the bond they shared. They continued to stay in touch, but now their relationship was different. They both began showing more care for each other, often reminiscing about the night they spent together, realizing that something deeper had blossomed between them.

Later, Orm discovered something about Ling that left her heartbroken. She was already deeply entangled in her feelings for Ling, and now she wished she could rewrite everything from the beginning.

What could Orm have discovered that shattered her heart?

Will Orm and Ling make it through to the end?

Will they end up together, or will they only remain in each other's memories?
