A Memory, Part II

We promised each other a long time ago that we wouldn't hide stuff from the other even if that means we may hurt the other person. We had a big misunderstanding once and we decided to avoid something like that again in the future. I was nervous every time because my mind could not help but wonder about all the unnecessary R-rated things that I should not have been thinking about my best friend's brother. When I got to the cafeteria I saw Venus sitting all alone. I sat down next to her and looked around to see if Malakai was nearby and I furrowed my eyebrows when I didn't see him. Maybe he is late.

"I thought Malakai was eating with us today." she didn't look up from her phone when she answered me, probably too busy texting her new boo thang. I just hope that this time he wasn't some dickhead who had his foot too far up his ass to know he was being a dickhead.

"He said something came up so he wouldn't be able to make it, and he will see us tomorrow at the showcase." I visibly sighed and I was glad that Venus was too busy with her phone to notice because that was not a conversation I wanted to have with her.

Like what would I even say, "Hey I have been having weird fantasies about your brother tying me up and banging my guts out." Yeah no definitely not going to tell her that. We ate our food as she told me about this new guy she is seeing and he sounds like a pretty decent guy.

"His name is Zion and he is majoring in Sports medicine. He is also on the basketball team." I could tell she really liked this guy by the way she was gushing about him. I rolled my eyes but I was happy for her. "He will also be coming tomorrow to the showcase. I told him I wanted to introduce him to my best friend." Oh god not another person to see my work and potentially think I am some kind of weirdo. I just smiled at her and gave her a hug letting her know that I was happy for her.

"Seriously though Ny. When are you gonna stop focusing on school and have some real fun? I haven't heard you talking about a guy yet." Here she goes again. Venus knows about my little situation since I told her everything that happened in the past.

"Ve I told you already it is not as easy as you think it is. I can't just jump into things and I don't really want to jump into anything. I'm taking it easy for now. But don't worry, as soon as I find a proper candidate I will let you know okay." I pinched both of her cheeks and hopped out of my seat before she could retaliate. I looked back at her and saw her roll her eyes at me. She mouthed we are not done with this conversation. I laughed at her and kept walking away. I had to head home so I could take a nap before it was time to meet my parents at the restaurant.

When I woke up it was 5 PM and I had an hour to get ready. I walked out of my room and headed to the kitchen to get some water. On my way there I heard giggling coming from the living room and I popped my head in to see Venus laying on the couch on her phone.

I heard a deep voice say, "You wanna know what else gets deep." I wanted to gag but instead I decided to mess with her. With a high pitched voice I gasped. I saw Venus look up at me with a shocked face but before she could say anything I continued.

"OMG Venus are you cheating on me and with a guy. You told me you loved me." And to add icing on top of my grammy award winning performance I begin to sob.

I heard the voice again say, "Vee baby who is that." Oh but what they both didn't know was that I wasn't done yet.

"WHO AM I, WHO ARE YOU! YOU'RE THE ONE TALKING TO–" Before I could finish I got hit in the face with a pillow and when it dropped I saw Venus glaring at me. I gave her a sheepish smile and ran away to the kitchen to grab my water. I did not want to deal with an angry Venus. I walked past the living room to hear someone laughing loudly.

I was glad that Zion had a sense of humor and did not take offense to my little joke. I think we would get along just fine. Once I was ready I headed out. I went towards Venus' room when I noticed she wasn't in the living room anymore probably to get more privacy. I laughed to myself. I knocked on her door telling her I was coming in. I poked my head in to see she was sitting at her desk working on an assignment.
