When Nina and Billy finally left the Clearwater residents after speaking to the council it was dark out. They had, had a lot to discuss, and once everything had been hashed out the council had called the boys over to officially introduce them to Nina.
The reservation was small so she had grown up knowing these boys but getting to know them as fellow pack members was another thing entirely. Upon meeting her the three could immediately feel the power radiating off the oldest Black child and Sam had been more than happy to hand the reins of alpha over to her, having never really wanted the responsibilities that came with being leader of the pack in the first place.
She had decided to keep him as her beta and he agreed. He also informed her that he had found his own imprint already and would be more than willing to help her with the situation in any way she needed.
Jacob was already at home by the time they made it back and Nina immediately starting fixing dinner for her family, deciding to just reheat the leftovers from the night before. She was too mentally exhausted to attempt cooking anything.
Once it was done Jake and Billy came into the kitchen and began stuffing their faces with food. It had been so long since they had, had good home cooked meals.
"So what did the two of you do all day?" Jake asked them after swallowing his food this time.
Billy shrugged calmly, "I took her over to Sue and Harry's house to speak with the council, they're going to be on the lookout for a job opening around here for your sister."
Jake looked hopefully over at her, "A job? Does that mean you're planning on moving back home for good?"
Nina chuckled at his enthusiasm, and she hoped he never lost that golden retriever energy of his, "Well I can't stay here forever but I am moving back to the reservation and I'll be staying at home for a while till I can find my own place. I am a grown woman, can't live with dad forever."
Jacob gave her a bright, happy grin before going back to stuffing his face.
After dinner the three migrated into the living room and sat down to watch a movie together. They sat quietly, enjoying the family time, until the phone rang and Nina got up and walked into the kitchen to answer it. "Hello, Black residents."
"Hi, uh Nina, this is Charlie Swan." The person on the side of the phone answered, the nerves evident in his tone.
Nina grinned widely at the sound of his voice, "Oh hi Charlie, do you need to talk my dad?"
"Uh, no I was actually calling to speak to you," Charlie replied shifting the phone to his other ear, "I was wondering if we were still on for tomorrow and if so, what time do you want me to come get you?"
Nina blushed, though he thankfully couldn't see her, "If you still wanted to show me around then you can come pick me up around ten tomorrow morning. That's not too early for you is it?"
"No, no that sounds just fine, I'll be there at ten to pick you up. Alright uh, I'll see you tomorrow then. Goodnight Nina." He placed the phone on the receiver after her farewell and let a smile grace his face as he made his way to his room. Tomorrow couldn't come soon enough.
"Goodnight Charlie." She hung up the phone as well and stood there for a moment grinning widely before letting out an excited squeal.
"Nina, you okay in there? Who was on the phone?" Billy called out from the living room.
"Dad, can't you tell from her high pitched, girly noises that her boyfriend just called." Jacob answered their father with a playful eye roll and the two began laughing at her.
