No Strings Attached

Chapter 9

She felt behind, and frustrated. She didn't even want to stare at another paper. She got off her chair and paced around her room thinking it'll help blow off steam.

A knock at her door caught her attention, she thought it was Zhu Li or her father trying to give her more work. She rolled her eyes and opened the door not finding the people she thought it was. Instead, she found peace.

"Coffee and a sandwiches?" Korra stood at the door way holding a cup holder with two coffee cups and a white bag.

Asami's heart melted "you're literally perfect" she said without a second thought.

Korra walked in the office and joined Asami at her desk. She noticed Asami was still messing with the papers, seeing her annoyed.

"What's wrong?" Korra asked

"I just can't find the papers from the meeting we had with Cabbage Corp" she rubbed her forehead as she put the papers back into the folder and put it away in the drawer and looked for other folders

"Asami, stop" Korra got up and went to Asami's side "I'll look for it, you need to eat" Korra said and she went through the drawers.

Asami sighed and ate her sandwich while Korra looked for the papers. "So, you came in late"

"Yeah, I didn't get home till late because of some dinner meet I had" Asami sighed "and when I got home I had to do paperwork that I told Zhu Li not to worry about and that I'll handle it"

"You regret that now don't you?" Korra chuckled

"Shut up" Asami rolled her eyes

"I found it" Korra said making Asami sit up. She was about to grab it from Korra's hand till it was moved away "not so fast, you want this, you gotta give me an award"

"What do you want? 50 bucks?"

"I was gonna say a kiss but hey that works too" Korra joked earning a giggle from the boss.

Asami gave Korra a well deserved kiss and took the papers from Korra's hands "thank you"

Korra sat back down on the chair and enjoyed her lunch. Asami couldn't help but think how kind Korra was.

As she wrote something down looked over at Korra who was looking out the window giving her a perfect view of her side profile. Korra was attractive, something Asami wouldn't let go of.

She smiled and continued to work.

After 20 minutes Korra stood up. "Well, I gotta head back to it" she told Asami who was disappointed

"Alright" Asami said in defeat

"I'll see ya.."

"Tonight?" Asami asked hoping for the answer she wanted

"If you want me there" Korra gave her a smile as she opened the door. Asami gave her a small nod "then I'll be there" with that she left

—a week later—

"Where the hell is everyone?" Kai asked seeing that only Korra showed up to the store

"Maybe they're running late" Korra said

"Where's Bolin, didn't you see him this morning?"

"I didn't see him today actually, he spent the night at Opal's" Korra said "and don't ask me about the other two idiots" she meant Mako and Iroh "where's Jinora?"

"She cleaning the house for the party tomorrow" he said "what are we going to do, we have to get a lot of stuff to get, I mean everything would fit in our cars but that's not the problem" he said pacing outside the store
