▐ LYDIA BLAKE has lived in Mystic Falls on and off nearly her entire life. Her mom grew up in the small town, and after her dad dies - or rather, is murdered in cold blood - Deborah Blake becomes somewhat of a magician in Lydia's life. She'd disappear for weeks on end - but not before dropping her off in Mystic Falls and leaving her in the care of her aunt Liz and cousin Caroline - only to eventually return bloody and bruised. No one really knew where Deborah would go, or even why. No one except Lydia, who knew the dark truth; her mom was hunting down her father's killer, hell bent on exacting revenge on the monster who sank their fangs into him and drained him of blood right in front of his wife and young daughter.

Vampires were creatures that Lydia knew were all too real. She grew up being trained by her mom - the few weeks when she wasn't running off to go find another dead end - to hunt and kill vampires. When her junior year kicks off with bodies being found drained of blood and mysterious animal attacks, Lydia knows there's only one thing behind it: vampires. And she suspects the new arrivals in town may have something to do with it.

I've wanted to write a new fanfic for years and tried a few times but no idea ever really stuck and I eventually ended up giving up altogether but I'm currently rewatching TVD for like the billionth time and I've decided I'm going to write a fic for it like I've always wanted to so publishing this is me holding myself accountable. I will be posting a chapter soon so bare with me, I'm not the fastest writer and I haven't written a fanfic in years (at least none I've posted lol) so updates may not always be as often as I'd like but I'll try my absolute best.
