Chapter 7. Resemblance

Start from the beginning

"Calm down, Y/N." He paused thinking of a way to explain properly. "You will be unable to kill me...I can take a few hits." Swatch chuckled.

"If you say so." You shrugged.

You hesitated to throw the spear but you did anyway. The spear hurdled toward Swatch. You chucked it as hard as you could.

"Nice throw," Swatch added.

The spear pierced Swatch's side. The lack of blood dripping down his side surprised you. Now that you realized it, if your spear burned with blue and purple flames it was probably so hot that it cauterized the wound.

Swatch grabbed the spear and tore it from his side, no blood dripping. Soon followed by Swatch realizing how hot the spear was and instantly putting it down. The hole caused

The birdman let out a sigh of relief. "That spear feels more powerful than it looks. Luckily you just barely missed my side.

"I didn't hit it?" Your mouth gaped.

"No. All you hit was just feathers and my suit. I can get the swatchlings to repair the suit in a pinch. The feathers, however... You may have just burnt them to a crisp, along with my hand!"

You felt bad for Swatch but couldn't help but laugh quietly.

"So uhm, I chucked the spear at you. Now what?"

"I simply just wanted to see how powerful it was. It was more powerful than anticipated." Swatch brushed his hands to his side taking any loose feathers off both his hands and his sides. Only a few fell. "I completely disregarded the fact that it was made of flames. Probably should have taken note." Swatch realized something. His head perked up towards you. "Last time your spear was made of just light, this time it was made of flames. Interesting."

You hadn't realized it either. Why would the spear change into a whole different compound? Maybe it had been some sort of failure before. Maybe you didn't have enough determination?

"Huh, I had never realized that either. Do you have any ideas why that would happen?"

"If I did I would've told you by now," Swatch responded. "It's interesting but perhaps we will need to figure that out later. I don't have much time to train today and we've already gone through half of the time... Today I was hoping I could teach you some basic spear techniques. We will only have enough time for one today."

"Yeah... We can figure out the whole different spear thing later.... I do apologize for kinda wasting your time, especially with falling off the platform. That didn't help, huh?"

"It was not much of an inconvenience. We never had much time to begin with in the first place." Swatch quickly kicked the spear on the ground towards you. "Now, let's continue."

"Yeah," You affirmed while picking up the flaming spear.

"Before we move onto basic spear techniques I wanted to test another thing."

"Does it involve hitting you with a spear again?" You asked suspiciously.

Swatch chuckled. "No, no. I wanted to see if you are able to summon more than one spear at once."

You looked at him dumbfounded. "That's possible?"

"Well, some individuals can summon more than one of their main weapons. For example, I can summon more than one of my feathers. I'm sure you'll be able to summon more than one spear."

"I sure hope so," If you weren't able to you probably would sob in a corner. You never even knew you had magic until yesterday and now you want to finally be cool. "I can give it a shot."
