Chapter 1 : Meeting

In the bustling heart of the grand-dukedom, people could be seen rushing past each other, caught in the endless rhythm of their lives. Adults conversing with eachother, children running around. Laughters were shared with one another.

The situation inside the dukedom wasn't much of a difference compared to the outside, maids could be seen rushing back and forth. Leaving and entering the room repeatedly. Holding some garments, rack of dresses being pushed inside the room, jewelry being placed infront of a noble lady.

"Ughh. Is it necessary to prepare a bunch of stuff when I'm only visiting the Eckart's estate??" the annoyed tone coming from the noble lady made the maids realize that their young mistress is displeased about the situation.

"Young mistress, it's an important occasion! We can't just let you leave with a simple and basic dress when you're on your way to your fiancée's estate! More importantly, the emperor and empress are also hosting a ball this evening at the same time as well!! We must get you prepared" the maid said to the noble lady as she brushed her lustrous crimson red hair.

The noble lady sighed as she just let her maids take care of her necessities.

It took a whole hour for the maids to finish getting their mistress ready- the maids looked at their mistress in awe. Absolutely strucked by their young mistress beauty. Truly! She lives up to the "the most beautiful lady in the continent" title.

The noble lady then stood up- looking at her white backless dress with flower patterns, that cling onto her waist beautifully like the dress was made just for her only. Her hair braided in one that goes all the way down to her hips, decorated with a few small flowers in sight. A necklace clinging and decorating her neck. A pair of white high heels and earrings to match with the dress.

"Kayle unnie! I heard you're on your way to the Eckarts's estate!!" the sound of a little girl sounded as it followed with a bang as the door hit the wall harshly-

"Lily?? What are you-" before Kayle could say anything, Lily then tackled Kayle as she didn't want to let her go.

"Please take me with you, unnie!!" Lily said, though is sounded like a muffle because she had her face pressed against Kayle's dress, she could hear her clearly still.

"Lily!" a boy shouted as he entered the room where Kayle and Lily is located at. "Let go of, nuna. She has to meet her fiancée soon!!"

Kayle watched as Basen tried to detached Lily from her, clearly putting all his strength- and then succeeded in pulling her away which made Lily sad and kicking her feet around making Basen had a hard time, but didn't show it.

"Nuna, father is already waiting downstairs. You should go while I take care of Lily in your stead" Basen said as he smiled politely- he didn't want to let his nuna go, but he reluctantly agree when their father said that he could see her again at the ball event hosted by the emperor and empress.

"Alright. Thank you for telling me, please take care you both" Kayle said as she patted each one of their heads and walked off- upon arriving at the entrance of the grand-dukedom, Kayle then saw her father completely changed into a nice clothing while fixing his clothes cuff.

Deruth then noticed his daughter's presence and looked at her direction- his eyes went slightly wide as he saw the uncanny resemblance to Jur which made him smile.

"You look pretty as your late mother, Kayle" Deruth then extended his hand to his daughter which she placed her hand on top of his, and followed her father that's heading towards the carriage.

The whole ride to the Eckart's estate was quiet. The silence was deafening to Deruth, so he decided to break the silence.

"So.. how was your day, Kayle??" Deruth asked to his daughter which she answered him blandly.

"Good. How about you, father??"

"I'm doing fine"

Silence.

"Are you excited to meet your fiancée that I and Duke Eckart set up for you???"

"I'm not sure..... as long as he's alright, I'm fine with it" Kayle stated as she looked outside the carriage window.

The whole ride then went quiet again as always. But, Deruth didn't mind it since he doesn't want to force his daughter to have a conversation longer than this.

After about 40 minutes, they both finally arrived at the Eckart's estate. The estate is quite large, but still smaller than the grand-dukedom. The 2 entered the estate as one of the maid there lead them to the dining room where the Eckart's are at.

ECKART'S POV

"Seriously... I don't get it why I'm going to be married with a girl I don't know of" Reynold commented as he waited impatiently for the grand-duke Henituse and his eldest daughter to arrive.

"Reynold.. it's beneficial for us. So, you must watch your attitude when they arrive. I don't tolerate any disrespectful behavior coming from you" Derreck said to Reynold, who just rolled his eyes.

'Reynold having a fiancée..? This wasn't mentioned in the game before...' Penelope thought cautiously- Reynold, that was beside her, notice her behavior and raised his eyebrows as if to say 'do you have something in your mind?'

Penelope caught onto his act and shook her head as if saying 'no'. Reynold was concerned, but then just shrugged it off. The ball is also going to be held soon... why can't I just wait until then to see who my fiancée is?? Reynold thought as he heard the door to the dining room opened.

"Duke Eckart, grand-duke Henituse and his eldest daughter have arrived!" the maid announced, as duke Eckart made a gesture to let them in.

The first to step in is grand-duke Henituse, he's wearing a ball outfit. Clearly ready to go and depart immediately when the ball started.

Then, followed by Kayle Henituse. Her sight then caught Reynold's full attention- everything suddenly felt as if it came to a stop, his breath caught in his throat as he saw her crimson red hair that reminded him of blood which was both mesmerizing and terrifying at the same time. Penelope then caught onto him as well and thought the same thing as him upon seeing her for the first time. One thing they can agree on is that she's the most prettiest girl they had ever seen. It was as if she was blessed by the Gods themselves.

Heyya~ your favorite author is back at it again with another story!

Just a few warnings before we dive deeper in the story. Cale/Kayle's personality will be a little different, since I want her to fit right in with the plot. She still wants to have slacker life like in the original, so don't worry about that.

This story will only have 3 parts, it might progress faster than usual, but I'll be extending it so don't worry to much!

I need to pay attention to my other stories as well and picking it back up again after being hiatus for more than a year.
