John laughs. "Age is just a number, old pal."

"That's a huge age gap in my opinion; isn't your daughter nineteen?" Kelly asked. Knowing the man was at least in his sixty's or close to it.

"Another whiskey, Herrmann." He then looks at Kelly. "You only live once, son."

"Is that what you tell your wife?" Herrmann asked as he gave him his whiskey.

"I'm a single man; my wife left me about a year or so ago." He sips the whiskey. "Marriage is the worst; never get married, Severide. The worst thing a man can do is get married."

"Marriage and Severide are two things that don't go together." Casey said, walking over to them.

Herrmann eyed Severide up a moment before saying. "You know everyone has a soulmate out there; Severide could surprise you, Casey, and get married before you."

Casey laughed. "Herrmann, the day Severide gets married, drinks are on me for a whole week." He clicks his glass against John's and pats Kelly on the back. "Matrimony is not in Severide's vocabulary." Kelly nods and laughs, agreeing with Casey.

"Hell, here we are talking about Severide and marriage when the man doesn't even know what a relationship is; he's never been in one. Never will be. Commitment is too scary of a word for him."

"The single life is the best life." John added. "Right Severide."

Kelly gives them a little nod and sips his beer. Feeling very uncomfortable with this conversation.

"Are you telling me you and Curly Sue have never hooked up?"

Kelly coughed, surprised by the question. "Of course he hasn't again; that's Casey's sister."

"What the hell, John?" Casey said, giving him a narrowed look. "Stay away from my sister."

"I was just curious if Severide hooked up with her and...

"Hell no, he didn't hook up with her. Severide is my best friend. There is a rule between guys, the golden rule. Guys don't hook up with their friends ex's, their potential girlfriends, or girls they are related to. Severide would never break that rule, as I would never break it either."

Kelly looked at his beer bottle, hating this conversation. Herrmann, who has already pieced together Severide's secret. Was feeling sort of bad for the man.

"Look at that table with those hotties." John puts his arm around Severide's shoulders. "How about we go over there and buy them a drink? You get two, I get two." He stands up. "Come on, be my wingman."

Kelly glances at Stella, who was looking at something Brett was showing her.

"John, Severide doesn't share  women; if he goes over there, chances are he's leaving with all four." Casey laughs. "Tell him, man."

Kelly looks over at the table and back at John. "Honestly, I'm not interested; you go have fun for the both of us."

"Wow! Severide is turning down a chance for sex. Are you feeling alright?" Casey asked.

"Actually Severide I forgot I had a car question for you." Herrmann said, sensing Kelly needed some help getting out of this situation.

"Herrmann, we are talking about free pussy, and you want to talk to the king of women about a car. What the hell is wrong with you?" John asked.

"Because it's my wife's car, and I don't want her driving it if it's going to break down on her. Severide is a car guy, plus he won't charge me to look at it. Right man?"
