Breaking The Bro Code

Part 9

Kelly sat at the end of the bar watching Stella talking and laughing with Gabby and Brett at the other end of the bar. She was so freaking gorgeous, she put on that short blue dress tonight to tease him. He watches as she sips her drink and tosses her head back, laughing. God, he loved hearing her laugh. He's fallen for her laugh, which is utterly contagious. She glances over at him and smiles. A smile that lights up the room; no filter is needed. He takes his phone and shoots her a text. "You light up the room with your smile." He hits send. Lays his phone down and watches as she picks up her phone, her smile widened. She sent him a heart emoji, and he replied. "I want to be the reason behind that smile."

"You are; believe that." She replied back with a kiss emoji. They make eye contact for a brief moment. Till Gabby said something that makes Stella look at her and laugh. 

He then sends her another text. "What color panties are you wearing?"

She picks up her phone and replies. "Take a guess."

"What do I get if I guess correctly?"

"You get to take them off with your teeth." She replied with wink emoji.

He looks up at her after reading the text.
"I like this game, red." He replied with a fire emoji.

"Nope." She replied with a sad face emoji.

"Green?"

"Nope."

"Blue."

"Nope again." She sends three sad face emojis.

"Who are you texting?" Brett asked her. "You are blushing like a school girl. "

Gabby smiled. "Brett some women don't  like to kiss and tell."

Gabby found out about them a month ago; they were making out on the couch when she walked in, catching them in the act. She claimed she knew they were messing around, saying she's good at connecting dots. At first he was skeptical, thinking she was going to end up lecturing him on why he has to be honest with Casey, but she didn't. She told them she understood why they didn't want Casey to know yet. She made them promise if things get serious that they will come clean to Casey. Which they both vow to do so. 

Gabby knowing wasn't as bad as he thought it would be; since her apartment was cleared of smoke damage, she has convinced Casey to stay with her every night since she moved back to her apartment, telling him she doesn't want to be alone. Which left him and Stella alone in his apartment, and he got to sleep with her next to him every night. So yes, Gabby knowing has turned out to be the best thing to happen this far.

"Severide, has it hanging." 

Kelly looks up at one of his former chiefs."Pretty good, Chief John."

"So let me ask you a question." He sat down beside Kelly. "Curly sue over there at the end of the bar; is she married?"

"Curly sue?" Kelly questioned.

"I don't know her name." He laughed. "The hot girl with the black curls next to Gabby Dawson."

"All you need to know, Chief, about Curly Sue is she is too young for you, and she is Matt Casey's sister." Herrmann chimed in overhearing the conversation.

"Matt Casey's sister." He downs his scotch. "She can't be that young; she's drinking a margarita."

"She's twenty-twenty." Kelly tells him. "And she has a boyfriend." Wishing he could say she was his, he wanted everyone to know she was his.

"Thats not young Herrmann; hell, my last chick was nineteen." He elbowed Kelly in the arm. "Did things to my body, I didn't know was possible."

Kelly arched his eyebrow and looked at Herrmann, who shrugged. "Aren't you a little too old and married to be hooking up with a nineteen-year-old?"
