The Price of War

The world was chaos.

The roar of artillery, the crack of gunfire, the endless march of death—these were the constants in Sage's life as a member of Task Force 141.

But war was not the only thing haunting her.

She was caught between shadows, and those shadows had names: Ghost, König, Soap, and Keegan.

Four men who had become more than comrades, more than friends.

They were the ones who saved her life, the ones who fought beside her, and now, they were the ones tearing her apart in ways no enemy ever could.

The first time she met Simon "Ghost" Riley, his presence had been a thunderclap in her world.

His silent, watchful gaze had cut through her like a blade, making her acutely aware of the intensity simmering beneath his cold, calculated exterior.

With his skull mask concealing any trace of emotion, Ghost was an enigma, a man who kept his desires locked away.

Yet Sage could feel it, the raw hunger that radiated from him whenever they were alone.

A part of her feared him, but an even darker part longed to submit to the control he so effortlessly wielded.

Then there was König, a behemoth of a man who spoke little but said everything with his eyes.

Austrian-born and bred for battle, König was the quiet storm—a brooding, lethal presence who towered over her.

He was awkward in the way he carried himself around her, but beneath that shy exterior was something primal, something that terrified and thrilled her all at once.

The way he looked at her, like she was a delicate thing he wanted to protect and possess, made her heart race in ways she didn't fully understand.

Johnny "Soap" MacTavish was the opposite of the others—he was light where the others were dark, quick to laugh and quicker to smile.

But Sage had learned not to mistake his humor for weakness.

Soap was a man of contrasts: playful in one moment, deadly serious in the next.

His touch was always casual, his remarks always teasing, but Sage could feel the depth of his desire hidden beneath the surface.

His hands, calloused from years of combat, had lingered too long on her skin, his gaze had lingered even longer.

There was something dangerous about how easily Soap could flip from friend to something much, much more.

And finally, there was Keegan P. Russ—silent, brooding, and fiercely loyal to those he called his own.

He had come into their fold during an operation that had gone sideways in a way none of them could have predicted.

Unlike Ghost or König, Keegan wasn't one to let his emotions show, but there was an edge to him, a cold fury that simmered beneath the surface.

He was the shadow lurking at her side, always watching, always waiting.

Sage could feel his quiet intensity whenever he was near, and it unnerved her how badly she wanted to let that cold fire consume her.

The missions grew more dangerous, and so did the tension between them all. Each man wanted her in his own way, and Sage found herself spiraling into a web of desire and danger she wasn't sure she could escape.
