Chapter One

Verniece PoV

"I will fight for you no matter what, Verniece." Sabi ng lalaking kasama kong tumatakbo kanina pa.

"Huh? P-pe-pero.." I don't get it. Omyghad!

What the hell is happening?

Hindi ko alam kung bakit kami tumatakbo and kung bakit naman ako sumasama, hindi ko maaninag ang mukha nya dahil sobrang dilim ng paligid.

All i can hear ay ang mga yabag ng mga sumusunod samin. They're a lot.

Bakit ba ako nandito?

Anong kailangan ng mga sumusunod sakin? o samin?

Sino itong lalaking kasama ko?

Ang daming tanong sa isip ko, ng biglang...

"Shit." he whispered

Sumikip ang paghinga ko habang tumatakbo, then suddenly I fell on the ground. Bumibigat na din ang mata ko. I just want to rest for a minute.

Before I close my eyes totally. I heard him crying.

"Don't leave me please.. We'll get through this. Just hold on." He said with tears

"Wh-who a-are yo-u?" I said. I'm running out of air to breathe.

"Huh?" he said. I can see confusion in his eyes. But still, he answered my question.

"I'm J--.." Hindi ko na narinig ang buong sinabi nya.

Who is he?

Bigla akong nagising dahil sa sigaw sa may harap ng pinto sa room ko. Pawis na pawis akong nagising kahit airconditioned naman tong room ko.

What is the meaning of my dream? Or should I say nightmare.

Why am I in that situation? A bloody situation.

Malalim akong nag-iisip ng biglang bumukas ang naka-locked kong pinto.

Shit! My mom.

"Mommy naman e" *pout* "Bakit mo ako ginising? Makikilala ko na yung Prince Charming ko e" Maktol kong sabi.

Well I'm the youngest and her only daughter, I have two brothers. You will meet them soon.

"Hey baby enough for that Prince Charming of yours, you're getting late for your first day as being sophomore. Haayyy! Excited na ako for you baby." That's my Mommy Sapphire.

I just smiled back as an answer then before she leave my room nagsalita ulit sya.

"Is there any prob daughter?" She asked me.

I know kilalang kilala na ako ni Mommy dahil since birth kami lang dalawa ang magkasama. My parents was separated when I'm still in gradeschool, kahit noong di pa sila hiwalay once a year lang din umuuwi si Dad, ang sabi naman ni Mom is nagwowork abroad si Dad.

"None mom" I smiled as an assurance.

"Then, Get up and breakfast is ready. Mag-ayos kana sayang naman yung promotion mo sa A section kung first day late ka daughter." She added.

"Yes momsie, I understand." Kasabay nun ay bumangon na ako para maligo.

After ko magbihis ay bumaba na ako para kumain. My mom is really good in cooking, she's a chef in fine dine restaurant in a hotel kahit simple food nagagawa nyang special.

We ate our breakfast together while chitchatting about how to settle things like that before 8PM I should be in here, after school dapat diretso na ng house, dapat she know all of the people I will meet in our school and whenever I'm in trouble she will be the first one I'll call.

I just nodded as my agreement on her rules, I believe that mother knows best. So, who am I to contradict her. In fact, I'm proud her decisions because I became like this, an almost perfect daughter.

Tinawag na ni Mommy yung driver namin na si Burns, nasa twenties lang siya but I'm not sure kasi we're not close. He's our personal driver.

"Good day Ms. Giormanni" said Burns then he bowed as sign of respect.

"Same." Tipid kong sagot.

I hopped into the car then nilagay yung earphones ng iPod ko. I press the next button of my iPod and nagplay ang 'Night Changes' of One Direction.

Tumingin ako sa watch ko it's 6:42 am and 7:15 ang start ng orientation sa school. I glance at my mom talking to Burns, I don't have any idea of what they're talking about. But I read my mom's lips. 'Verniece' so their topic is me. About her rules I think?

I just closed my eyes while waiting for our driver. Then I fall asleep.
