In the early days of the world, long before the rise of the great kingdoms of Elves and Men, the realm of Valinor stood as a beacon of light and peace. It was a land untouched by sorrow, where the Valar, the mighty guardians of the world, dwelt in their eternal halls, and the Elves sang songs of beauty beneath the shining light of the Two Trees, Telperion and Laurelin.

Among the Maiar, the lesser Ainur who served the Valar, was Melian, a being of great grace and wisdom. She was known for her love of the natural world, her voice like the gentle murmuring of streams, and her deep connection to Yavanna, the Giver of Fruits. Melian often wandered the gardens of Lórien, where dreams and visions floated like mists in the air, and it was said that flowers bloomed brighter and birds sang sweeter in her presence.

It was during one of these wanderings that Melian's heart first stirred with a vision of the distant lands of Middle-earth. There, she saw Thingol, a noble and wise Elven lord of the Teleri, who had not yet made the journey to Valinor. His eyes were filled with longing for the beauty that lay beyond the sea, and Melian felt a deep connection to him, as if their fates were entwined by the very music of the Ainur.

Moved by this vision, Melian left the timeless shores of Valinor and journeyed to Middle-earth, where she and Thingol met in the forest of Nan Elmoth. Their love was instant and eternal, and they became the first great union of Maia and Elf. Together, they founded the hidden kingdom of Doriath, a realm shielded by Melian's enchantments, where peace and beauty reigned under the eaves of the mighty trees.

But before this journey to Middle-earth, another tale unfolded, one that few know. A tale of love and light in the blessed realm of Valinor, where Melian and Thingol's bond was first blessed with a child.

The news of Melian's marriage to Thingol had reached the ears of the Valar, and they rejoiced at this union of spirit and love. In Valinor, Melian's presence was a thing of joy, for she brought the beauty of the natural world to the halls of the Valar, and her songs filled the air with peace. Thingol, deeply respected by the Teleri, found solace in the light of the Two Trees and in the company of his beloved Melian.

In the heart of Valinor, under the mingling lights of Telperion and Laurelin, Melian and Thingol's love bore fruit. It was here, in the gardens of Lórien, that Melian received a vision, one unlike any before. She saw herself standing at the edge of a silver lake, the waters clear and still, reflecting the stars above. In the reflection, she saw the image of a young Elven maiden with eyes bright as the first light of dawn, and a voice like a nightingale's song.

"Thingol," Melian said softly, her voice as soothing as the evening breeze, "I have seen a vision, a gift from the light of Valinor. A daughter shall be born to us, a child of both the Maia and the Eldar, who shall bear the grace of the Ainur and the wisdom of the Elves."

Thingol, taking Melian's hands in his, smiled. "Then we shall cherish her, Melian. For she will be a beacon of light to our people, a living testament to the love that binds us."
