(COMPLETE)broken but not lost (Boat Boys Fanfic Cuz There's Not Enough)

chapter 1

I woke up on the first day of school to my alarm, I turned it off and got dressed. Brushed my teeth and all the usual stuff. I left the house around 7:00 and started walking up the street to my bus stop. There was a boy there who I had never seen before and he was kinda cute but I just got rid of that thought because he was probably straight.

When I got to the bus stop he just kinda stared at me but eventually he broke the silence "what's your name" oh, uh um i-im Joel" oh my god I'm so stupid why do I always studder when I'm nervous and more importantly why am I nervous! "I'm Etho."

"BOO"! "AHH" i turned around to see Grian laughing at me, and Jimmy on his phone. Me Grian and Jimmy have all been best friends since we where toddlers and we're neighbors Jimmy's house is to my left and grian's to my right.

"Who's this" Grian asks "oh uh this is Etho" I felt a small blush creep onto my face and i don't know why. Grian notices my small blush and smiles then looks at Etho "hmm ok Etho" he says. Grian was about to say something else but then the bus got there.

We all got on the bus, me, Grian, and Jimmy going straight to the back where we always sat last year cuz we're bad boys. Etho sat near the front so I don't think he could hear us. "What the fuck Grian?" I say as soon as we sit down "You like that etho kid!" "NO I DON'T" "you so do!"I tried to change the subject In case Etho could hear us, especially since we weren't really being quiet.

"What's he doing" I said pointing and trying to turn the conversation to Jimmy. "He's probably just texting Scott." Jimmy looked at us "He wants to break up" he said. "So, you like tango now anyways?" said Grian. Jimmy didn't say anything and just went back to texting Scott but Grian was still trying to talk to him so I just zoned out.

When we got to school Jimmy rushed out of the bus, I assume to go find scott. Grian followed soon after. When I got off the bus I went to the library just cuz I didn't know where Grian and Jimmy where and they where my only friend's.

When I got to the library I just walked through all the aisles of books because I didn't really have a reason to be there but when I turned down one of the aisles I saw Etho. I was excited but SO nervous he was holding a book called "The Watchers" (idk if this is a real book I'm just referencing the life series)

"Hey Etho" I said knowing that my face was already red "hey Joel" he said still looking down at his book "so, umm... I was wondering like umm if maybe you could sit with me and my friends today at lunch?" I don't know why I said that it's just the first thing that came to mind.

Just then he shut his book, put it back on the shelf and walked closer to me like really close like our noses where only about an inch apart. And I could feel my face heat up

"Joel?"he said in barely a whisper "yeah?" I asked trying my best to calm down and stop blushing. "We just met." "Yeah, I know I think we could be friends" I said quickly. "Then why are you blushing" he said in a deep voice and I could feel my face heating up more

He steps away from me and grabs the book from earlier back off the shelf but doesn't open it "yeah, I'll sit with you at lunch but can I bring someone?" He asked "Oh yeah sure, who?"

Out of nowhere some guy comes down the aisle and grabs Etho's hand "There you are!" The guy says. "I've been looking all over for you" "Hey Bdubs" Etho said and i can immediately feel my heart sink. "Him Joel, is that ok?" Etho asks me "oh... Um, yeah sure" I say "Are you guys, umm dating?" "Yeah" Bdubs answers my question. "Anyways we gotta go get breakfast bye joel" Bdubs says as he walks away with Etho.

God I can't believe I'm so STUPID of course a guy like that has a boyfriend honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if he had 4.

I then went to go find Grian and Jimmy
I was walking around the school for about 15 minutes until I saw Jimmy and Scott fighting outside not fist fighting just yelling at each other.

I walked over to them and Jimmy started talking to me as soon as he saw me. "Joel there you are!" He said "hey Jimmy is everything ok?" Jimmy opened his mouth to talk but Scott cut him off "CLASSIC JIMMY ALWAYS CHOOSING HIS FRIENDS OVER ME" Jimmy just looked at Scott but didn't say anything and Scott just looked at Jimmy. it got really quiet and neither of them where saying anything so I started to walk away, but I needed to ask Jimmy if he new where Grian was, so I turned around.

Whenever I turned around to ask, Jimmy and Scott where making out so I just left to go find Grian by myself. I walked around for about 10 minutes and still couldn't find him so I started to check the bathrooms because ever since him and scar started dating they've been all over each other.

I walked into the bathroom by the bus lot and the first thing I see is Grian and scar making out Grian up against the wall. I calf a little to get their attention, they stop and look at me Grian still a little dizzy and distracted. "Umm can we talk" I say. "Yeah" Grian says "see you in 3rd period" he smiles and winks at Scar. "God get a room!" I said.

Me and grian go and sit at a picnic table outside. As we sat down I immediately started talking "talked to Etho" I said "Really OMG how did it go!" He said really excitedly. "He's sitting with us at lunch." I said "OMG JOEL THAT'S AMAZING" he said "Yup, and hes bringing his boyfriend."

"Oh, it's ok... You can just break them up" he said "No Grian he seems like a really nice guy, and there's no way Etho likes me anyway." I say a little annoyed that he evan suggested that. Just than the bell rang and me and grian have every class together except for our 2 electives.

We walked to first period which was social studies. Grian and I sat at a table to gather and I looked around to see who all was in the class but we got there a little early so there wasn't that many people yet I looked at the door and Etho walks in holding Bdubs's hand.

"Grian look" I said looking at them and Grian waved them over to our table "Grian what the hell!" "What I just wanna see if he's a nice guy like you said?" He said, and j rolled my eyes.

They sat down at our table and I said hi
"Hi!" Bdubs said sitting diagonal from me."hey, Joel" Etho said in a deep voice sitting across from me.
