It had been a week since the tube incident. Camilla had very soon moved on with her life and forgot all about it, well at least pretended to. Lucas had also soon forgotten about it, leaving his apartment early this morning to make it in time for another meeting, he had multiple a day, requiring his full attention each time whilst people from all over the world tuned in online to squabble over the tiniest of things and then make crude jokes shortly after. He was meant to be meeting his work friend, his one and only work friend, Matt for drinks this evening. He seemed to be the only one who didn't use women for sexual satisfaction or find interest in competing who has the best, most expensive cufflinks on their shirt. Lucas also never understood the fascination - therefore they got on well. Lucas never enjoyed using the tube as the mode of transport into work, but he tried walking on one of his first days at his firm, and ended up with shredded feet covered in blisters from the long distance- never again.

He managed to get a seat on the heavily busy carriage, he opened his book to read quietly, ignoring the screech that made ears ring that the train made. They got to the next stop and the next cluster of people to bustle in. People rushed to free seats to collapse into. He noticed the legs of a tanned woman sitting in front of him, he looked up from his book for a meer second. It was her. She was sat in front of him again. How could it happen again? He watched her reach into her handbag to also reach for a copy of a book- 'Normal People'. He remembered she always loved reading, she was actually the real reason that he started- but he never admitted that was the real reason.  Her blonde hair was neatly, loosely curled and hung past her shoulders, she looked content, put-together. Her lips pursed, eyes wide,  she was clearly up to a good part of the book.

Camilla had decided to get the early train that day, as for once oddly she was on time. Her planning had actually worked. She was reading her favourite book, the zoo wasn't as busy because she was early- the hyena's weren't awake yet. She was also up to her favourite part, it was only later that she realised how concentrated she looked. Coming to the end of the chapter she looked up to see who was present in the zoo today. She gasped. He was sat in front of her.

Hearing a gasp coming from the tanned woman, Lucas slowly looked up. Camilla snapped her head down to her book out of embarrassment. She could feel her cheeks grow warm, she hated that she blushed so easily at the smallest of things- she always had done since she was a child. It looked like he was about to say something, but then hesitated. Instead formed an awkward smile, which she returned politely. She was so caught up that she completely forgot to get off at her stop, at which the doors were just shutting and the last rush of cattle launched themselves in. She sighs, then stands up, attempting to break the awkward stare. He didn't know why he did, he didn't have a reason to- but somehow his legs moved by themselves and stood up, stepping next to her.

'Hi.' He says.

She forms a curious smile, without replying. But it wasn't an awkward silence now, comfortable, in a way.

'What do you do?' He asked blatantly, subconsciously scanning her work attire. Smart. Classy.

'I'm a corporate lawyer.' Aware that he was looking at her like he was assessing her, he looked surprised, in a good way by what position she had. She waited for him to say something else. He didn't. Camilla whipped her head up to realise that she had to get off at this stop, so did he. He went to call out to her before she exited the tube, but she had already disappeared into the flood of workers.

There was a little to no chance that he would see her again, the odds were almost impossible, she worked in one of the busiest parts of the city- Liverpool Street. A constant inundation of workers all marching through the streets to their offices. He watched her curls bounce as she rushed off the platform.
