Prologue

This is a novel following the story of Azariah. She was born January 1st, 2026; the day of the Great People's Revolution. The day that led to an accidental anarchy in the newly formed city of Nova Praga. The day that the government abandoned its own country, and started anew in a distant region. For over a decade now, Nova Praga has had militias come and go in an attempt to restore humanity in this urban landscape abandoned by God, all of which met the same fate. The only order in the city were the four ruling rings.

There was once a border between them; four quadrants that promised a stable barrier and an end to the unending war that had everyone fighting for their inch of land. In 2042, however, those borders have almost been forgotten. They came and went with each and every attempt at forming a government to settle the disagreements.

At birth, one is assigned to a ring and is fated to serve the ring until death.

Azariah, however, was never assigned to a ring. She found the order of the city to be repulsive, contrary to what the general population seems to think. After the revolution, the people scrambled to form groups to survive, with fifteen only ever being created. Eleven perished.

There were two more that were independent. Azariah's two only people to rely on.

Biography of Anwir Noir

Birthed into the ring of the Noir Company, Anwir abandoned his ring the day he met Azariah at age 18. He lived his life despising his orders, only finding the courage to flee on that day.

Him and Azariah agreed to work together to get by. Pillaging abandoned apartments to get resources and food.

Anwir is a naturally skilled warrior. He fought off herds of Pirates, with his greatest feat being defeating an army of 70 Pirates on his own at 14 with a flammard.

Biography of Aiden Solace

Aiden Solace

Date of Birth: FEBRUARY 14TH, 2026

Birthed unassigned, like Azariah, Aiden is the second person ever to be birthed unassigned since the Revolution. They were born an only child into an independent family, one that despises the Order.

Their parents attempted to create a militia to control the chaos and bring an end to the Order. They were assassinated 3 days into their plan.

After their passing, in 2040, Aiden met Azariah and immediately bonded over their similar views.

Aiden remains Azariah's only friend and family.

In a world of "conquer or be conquered" being the ruling philosophy, three stand together on their feet with hope of a second revolution.
