Chase scoffed at his brother, crossing his arms and looking over at his father, expecting some kind of scolding. Instead, Mr. Davenport had found himself occupied with one of the screens on the walls.

"Dr. Evans, are you there?" he asked as the screen began to glitch and a static sound emitted from the speakers.

As the screen began to become clear, a man from the other side of the call began to speak. "Yeah! I'm here, although, there's been a major volcanic eruption nearby and we're experiencing aftershocks! I'm afraid if we don't act fast-"

The screen then glitched out again. The man's voice was replaced by the drone of the static and his face disappeared.

"Oh, merry Christmas to you, too, Dr. Evans," Adam scoffed. "Rude."

Davenport stepped away from the screen and faced his children, ignoring Adam's comment. "Sorry, guys. I know the timing's not ideal."

"It's okay, Mr. Davenport. We know what we have to do," Chase replied smoothly.

"Yep. Let's crack open some eggnog and hit it hard after the new year!" Adam insisted, running over to the elevator.

Suddenly, Mr. Davenport's phone began to ring.

"Davenport, Davenport, somebody wants to call Davenport!" the phone sung.

Bree rolled her eyes while Chase and Leo simply raised an eyebrow at the man. Davenport smiled sheepishly as he took it out of his pocket, answering the call.

Chase spun on his heel, going to stop Adam from leaving the lab as Mr. Davenport began to speak.

"Uh, yeah. I can send Leo up. Why do you need him?" Davenport replied slowly as he turned to face Leo.

"Uh huh. . . I'll tell him to go right now. Bye, Honey," the man spoke through the phone before he hung up and put the phone back in his pocket.

"You need to get a new ring tone," Chase told the man as he came back with Adam.

"What? It's catchy," Donald defended, shaking his head. Then, he turned to Leo. "Your mother needs you upstairs."

"Why? We're busy," Leo replied, crossing his arms.

"No, we're busy. These three can suit up and grab their gear without you. Just come back down when she doesn't need you anymore."

"Fine, but you better not do my job for me while I'm gone," Leo spoke stiffly.

WAITING for her son was like torture. Tasha played with her bracelets awkwardly as she sent a small smile to the woman who stood beside Ben.

"I'm Tasha Davenport. How do you know Ben?" she asked, extending her hand to fill the gap between the two.

As Ben opened his mouth to speak for her, the woman beat him to it. "I was a friend of Ava's."

Tasha stared blankly at the woman, still trying her best to smile. "Who ?"

The woman furrowed her brows as she looked at Ben curiously. An awkward silence again enveloped the three.

Nick cleared his throat, "Uh, Elena's mother."

"Oh! I see," Tasha realized aloud. "Well, it's very nice to meet you. I'm Leo's mom."

The woman pursed her lips, having already been keen on this information due to Tasha telling her just 3 minutes ago. "Yes, you are."

"Where's Leo? I thought you called him up here?" Ben interjected, saving the two women from the awkward exchange.
