(THIRD PERSON POV)
The Walls Begin to Crumble
After what happened at the beach, they met up on campus and started hanging out together. Eventually, Kai confessed his feelings to Anya, but she was scared. Kai, however, was determined to prove himself to Anya. Even though it was difficult, he did it because he loved her.
Anya sat on the park bench, watching the kids run around, their laughter echoing in the air. They were at the park now, Kai and Anya, having decided to hang out there after class.
Anya sighed, a wistful look on her face. "It's funny, isn't it?" she said, her voice barely a whisper.
"Watching them... so carefree. I used to be like that." she said.
Kai sat beside her, his hand gently brushing her arm. "You still are," he said, his voice soft and reassuring. "Deep down, you're full of life. It's just... hidden."
"Hidden behind walls," Anya whispered, her eyes downcast. "Walls I built to protect myself."
"Walls that keep the good things out, too," Kai said, his gaze meeting hers. "The love, the laughter, the joy."
Anya shook her head, a sad smile playing on her lips. "It's not that simple," she said. "There are things I can't forget. Things that hurt."
Kai reached for her hand, his touch sending a shiver down her spine. "I know," he said, his voice filled with understanding. "I've heard about what happened. But that doesn't change how I feel about you."
Anya pulled her hand away, her eyes filling with tears. "You don't know what it's like," she choked out. "The betrayal, the pain... it's like a scar that never heals."
Kai leaned closer, his eyes searching hers. "Maybe not," he said, his voice low and comforting. "But I can imagine. And I can love you despite it. I can love you through it."
Anya looked at him, her heart pounding in her chest. "But how?" she asked, her voice trembling. "How can you love someone who's broken?"
Kai cupped her face in his hands, his thumbs gently wiping away her tears. "You're not broken, Anya," he said, his voice filled with tenderness. "You're just... hurting. And you need someone to help you heal."
"You think you can do that?" Anya asked, her voice barely a whisper. "Help me heal?"
Kai smiled, a warm, genuine smile that reached his eyes. "I can try," he said. "And I'm willing to try. Because you're worth it. You're worth fighting for."
Anya's heart skipped a beat. She looked at him, her eyes filled with a mixture of hope and fear. "I... I don't know what to say," she whispered.
Kai leaned in, his lips brushing her ear. "Just say yes," he whispered. "Say yes to letting me in. Say yes to letting me love you."
Anya took a deep breath, her chest tightening with a mixture of emotions. "Okay," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "I'll try."
Kai's smile widened, his eyes sparkling with joy. He leaned in and kissed her gently, his lips soft and warm against hers. Anya closed her eyes, her body trembling with a mixture of fear and anticipation. She could feel the walls around her heart beginning to crumble, replaced by a glimmer of hope, a fragile trust in the love she felt for Kai.
