Percy's Pov:

It's been one month since my last quest and I know another is on the way. I knew as soon as I woke up in a sweat and in my dream, I saw this vision. It was this bowl that had beautiful red gems in it and a flash of something before I woke. I didn't see what the flash was but I swore it was a woman. So like I always do I met with Chiron, Annabeth, and Grover.

"It was like, red. Sparkly. How else do you describe gems!" I say frustrated. Not even I know what these vision are sometimes.

"It could be Pandora's jewels?" Annabeth questions, her blonde hair in a messy ponytail and wearing her usual orange camp t-shirt.

"I agree." Chiron sat back and I frowned. When he saw the look on my face he must have known that I was never listened in his classes.

"The jewels of Pandora are sacred and, when used, dangerous. If Kronos is attempting to get his hands on them we must act." He nods to me. His voice is serious like always. And very low.

"You must visit the oracle and pack. I will get you a map to the last spotting and you three will leave at sunrise." I nodded to him and we all stood.

Visiting the oracle is horrible since she's a little creepy. Grover and I once had to haul her up the stairs. She may be mummy-looking, but she weighs a ton. So we climbed the attic stairs together slowly. Floorboards creaking under our weight.

We get to the top and Annabeth goes first, and clears her throat. After she does her usual blabbering Annabeth asks for a prophecy about these gems.

"You will journey and face treacherous beasts, Three becomes four unexpectedly, Fight the herd and win the jewels. The truth revealed and power divulged."

"Great. Thanks." I say as we then go downstairs. I don't understand why we do this when most of the time none of it makes sense until after the quest. Well. Fight beats - normal occurrence in my life, so maybe I do know some of it. I wonder if I'll almost die this time too, but who am I kidding I almost die every day. Perks of being a forbidden kid. I'm tasty.

Annabeth nudges me as we walk back to our cabins. So I do the normal thing and nudge her back. Mistake. She punches my arm and I wince.

"Ow! Watch it-" I groan and she smiles. Grover sighs and looks around.

"Do you recon we'll ever not go on quests."

"Er- no. So clear your future plans." He frowns and Annabeth laughs. God her laugh. I never knew you could love a sound so much.

We sit at dinner - I say we but it's only me and Grover. Since seating rules. He's stuffing his face like he's never eaten before and I push it around.

"Whatcha thinking about?" He says between mouthfuls of veggie things.

"I didn't mention something to Chiron."

"Percy- that never ends well."

"It was a girl. I think I only saw a glimpse of her- before I woke up but I'm sure it was a person."

"Okay well. I don't know man."

After I scrape the rest of my dinner into the fire and stand for a moment.

"Dad. Please make this easy." I say as I offer him the leftover food. Asking the gods for stuff has never gone my way. Then again most of them hate me so.

After dinner I retreat back to my lonesome cabin and pack. I rest the bag on the side and play with the water for a while before I get changed. Then I lay my head on my pillow, falling asleep as soon as I close my eyes.

It's so dark I can't see. Darkness surrounds me as I feel for anything to help me out. Then I see it in the corner of my eye. Red eyes looking back at me and suddenly I feel my chest squeezing. I fell to my knees, suffocating. Like there's no air to breathe.

"Wake up." The voice spoke in my head making me hold it tightly. "Wake up Percy."

I woke up to Annabeth violently shaking me. Her face plastered with concern as she throws me my bag.

"Come on, Chiron's waiting."

Right. I stand getting dressed as quick as possible and leave for the hill. When I reach it Chiron has a book and a map in his hands along with the normal bag. Grover was smiling at me and I clap his back. The barrier around camp half blood is strangely beautiful. Blue wisp of protection. Chiron hands Annabeth the map and book. Great because I hate books, and because Grover can't even tell his left from his right. Then me the bag.

"Good luck, everything you need is in the book." Then he took off running - do horses run? Clopping? Down the path back to camp and I turn to the path leading out of the safety of camp.

"Are we ready?" Annabeth smiles.

"Ready!" Grover responds smiling back at her.

"Let's go almost die. Again"

And with that, we leave to find Pandora's jewels. Another quest. Another way to prove to the Gods I am worth keeping alive. To make my mother proud. So here I go, maybe off to my death. If so, I'll face it with a fight.
