Bonne lecture 💫
A month had gone by since Sofia had moved in with Selena, and the two had easily slipped into a natural rhythm of coexisting. Living together ended up being easy, they both seemed to share the same habits, flow the same way.
Their days were a mix of shared meals, binge-watching TV shows, taking Caesar for walks, and falling asleep to the sound of laughter echoing through the apartment. The once scary idea of lockdown had turned into something soft and oddly comforting.
It was mid-morning when Sofia wandered out of her room, still in an oversized hoodie and joggers, her hair cascading messily down her back. She carried a steaming mug of coffee in one hand and rubbed her eyes with the other.
As she entered the living room, she found Selena sitting cross-legged on the couch, her laptop balanced precariously on her knees. Papers, sketches, and notebooks were scattered across the coffee table, along with a few samples of makeup in sleek, minimalist packaging.
Selena looked up when she heard Sofia's footsteps, offering her a small smile. "Morning, sleepyhead."
"Morning," Sofia murmured, plopping down on the other side of the couch. She took a sip of her coffee before nodding toward the organized chaos. "What's all this?"
Selena gestured to the table with a wave of her hand, her excitement barely contained. "It's for this project I've been working on. It's called Rare Beauty. It's... well, it's a beauty brand, but it's more than that. I want it to be about embracing imperfections, feeling good about yourself, you know?"
Sofia raised her eyebrows, impressed. "That sounds incredible. And very you."
Selena blushed slightly but smiled wider. "Thanks. It's been a work in progress for a while, but I'm finally starting to see it come together. These are some of the initial product designs and formulas. I've been testing them myself."
Sofia leaned forward, picking up one of the sleek tubes of lipstick. "This is beautiful," she said, turning it over in her hands. "What's this shade called?"
"Courage," Selena said with a soft laugh. "I've been trying to name all the shades after emotions or traits that I think we could all use a little more of."
"That's such a cool idea," Sofia said, setting the lipstick down carefully. She glanced at the sketches and swatches, genuinely intrigued. "Do you need help with anything? I'm not exactly a beauty guru, but I could be your guinea pig if you need someone to test stuff."
