------------

Jake's slender fingers danced across the memory sphere, extracting the target's thoughts with ease. The sphere, a glowing orb of light, pulsed with the rhythm of the target's mind, revealing secrets and desires that lay hidden beneath the surface. The soft hum of the sphere filled the room, a gentle accompaniment to jake's focused expression.

Jungwon watched, impressed, as jake's eyes fluttered closed, focusing on the mental images unfolding before himself. The dim lighting in the room highlighted the sharp planes of jake's face, his features chiseled in concentration.

"Jake hyung, you're a genius," jungwon said, his voice barely above a whisper, as jake opened his eyes, a hint of a smile on his lips. The memory sphere, now empty, faded into darkness, and Jake leaned back in his chair, steepling his fingers together in a gesture of satisfaction.

"It's all about understanding the threads of memory jungwon-ah," jake said, his voice low and husky, like a gentle breeze on a summer day. "Once you can see the connections, the rest is easy."

Jungwon nodded, his eyes shining with admiration, like a student eager to learn from their mentor. "You make it look so simple jake hyung," he said, his voice laced with a hint of envy.

Jake chuckled, a low, throaty sound that sent a warmth through the room. "Trust me, it's not," he said, his eyes glinting with amusement. "But with practice, you'll get the hang of it."

Just then, a knock at the door signaled the arrival of a new client. Jake's gaze met jungwon's, a spark of curiosity igniting between them like a flame.

"Looks like we have a new job," jake said, rising from his chair with a fluid motion, like a puppy unfolding from a nap.

As they approached the door, a figure emerged from the shadows, like a ghost materializing in the flesh. Heeseung, with piercing browny black eyes and an air of mystery, stepped forward, his presence commanding attention.

"Please, you have to help me," heeseung said, his voice laced with desperation, like a drowning person clinging to a lifeline. "I need your expertise......my memories are fragmented, and I don't know why."

Jake's gaze locked onto heeseung's, sensing the depth of his distress, like a doctor diagnosing a patient's illness. There was something about heeseung that drew jake in, a sense of shared understanding that went beyond mere client and Memory Thief.

"Don't worry, we'll help you," jake said, his voice softening, like a gentle rain soothing a parched landscape. "But first, tell me... what makes you think your memories are fragmented?"

Heeseung hesitated, his eyes darting around the room like a trapped animal searching for an escape. "I... I don't know," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "It's just that sometimes I remember things that didn't happen. And other times, I forget things that did."

Jake's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with possibilities, like a detective piecing together clues. "Go on," he said, his voice measured, like a scientist conducting an experiment.

Heeseung took a deep breath, his words tumbling out in a rush, like a dam breaking. "I remember being a child, playing in a park. But my parents say I never went to that park. And sometimes I see faces, people I've never met, but I feel like I know them."

Jungwon's eyes met jake's, a silent question passing between them, like two old friends communicating without words. This was no ordinary case of memory loss.

"I see," jake said, his voice measured, like a judge weighing evidence. "And when did these... fragments start appearing?"

Heeseung's eyes dropped, his voice barely above a whisper, like a child confessing a sin. "After the accident."

Jake's gaze locked onto heeseung's, a sense of understanding passing between them, like two people sharing a secret. "Tell me about the accident," he said, his voice gentle, like a nurse tending to a wound.

And with that, heeseung's story began to unfold, a tale of mystery and memory that would draw jake and jungwon into a world of secrets and lies, like a moth drawn to a flame.
