"Damnit." You mutter as you pick up yet another dish you left in your room. "What does that mean?" Blueberry's innocent voice caused you to almost drop all the dishes. You turned to him, embarrassed. "Uh-nothing, forget I said anything." Oh great greatness, Swap is gonna kill me. "Fine, I'll ask my brother." Blue turned to leave. "W-wait no don't do that!" Blueberry turned back in frustration. "Then tell me! What does damnit mean?!" As if summoned, Swap teleported behind Blueberry. His eye was glowing orange. Oh shit. Might as well kill myself now. The second before Blue turned to see his brother, Swap turned off his orange eye. "Paps! The human said-" "I heard Blue, please don't say that okay? The human," Swap glared at you. "-Is being very rebellious and should not have said that word."

"Oh! Is it uhm..a?? Oh! Cuss?" Blueberry asked. "Yes, it's a cuss, which you're not cool if you cuss." Blueberry nodded. Then the house bell rang. "OHH THATS PROBABLY ASRIEL ILL GO ANSWER!!" Blueberry was such a bundle of absolute joy, you felt bad how many times you cussed this week. Not as bad as I'm about to feel. Swap stared you down. You did literally everything possible to avoid his eye contact. Finally you broke the silence. "I didn't mean to-" "You're not supposed to cuss in front of him, you know that." Swap's voice was dangerously low. "I didn't know he was there!" You crossed your arms, ready to dive head over heels into a battle you'd probably lose. You finally made eye contact.

"You've been cussing so much this week, and I'm sick of it Y/N. You're blessed with a room in this house; which I am NOT your parent so it is NOT required of me." You mumble something you probably shouldn't have. "Y/N we need a serious talk, and you're muttering under your breath." He sighed. You sneered. "I SAID, you're my boyfriend so if you wanted to be a NICE boyfriend; then it is required you give me a place to sleep." Swap's non existent eyebrows raised. "You think, that I'M required to give you a room?" Swap approached you slowly. Your face flushed. "W-well yeah I mean, otherwise I'd be on the streets.." "Yeah repeat that Y/N. Otherwise, you'd be on the streets."

You stared at the floor, embarrassed to say the least. "I-I'm sorry for cussing...I'll try to do better." You meekly offered. Swap towered over you, staring down at you. You couldn't tell if he was mad, or just...disappointed. "Fine. Do better. He's my little brother, and whether you like it or not," he leaned down and pulled your chin up to look at him.
"He comes first."

*Time skip abt a week*

You hadn't been much better at cussing, just better at making sure both brothers weren't there when you cussed. You were sweeping the kitchen floor when the house bell rang. You shrugged, might as well. You opened the door to see Asriel, fixing his stripped ed shawl. "Hey Az, Blue isn't here, he's playing near the Inn." Asriel nodded. "I know, I was playing with him, we were playing leap skeleton and Mommy was watching us but then Papyrus came over and he was trying to talk to Blueberry and get him to come here and tell you but then Blueberry was being stubborn so mommy said she could send me." Oh. My. God. Kids talk SO much. "Oh. And what did Sw-Papyrus need to tell me?" "He said to go to Grillbys." Then Asriel ran off. Bro. Why couldn't he have just told me that, I didn't need his whole life story.

Sighing, you grab a jacket which was actually Swap's and threw it on, heading out towards Grillbys. The walk was short, but you were kinda dragging your feet. Finally you entered Grillby's music and friendly ish faces greeted you. You didn't know what you were expecting, but it wasn't Swap half slumped over on a stool in front of the bar bench, smoking a cigarette. Worried, you quickly walked up and sat next to him. "Hey. Hey Swap, are you okay?" He grunted and looked over at you, offering a half smile. His eyes were faded and tired. He pulled out the cigarette and placed it on the counter. You noticed Grillby was also sending worried glances in Swap's direction. You waved at Grillby to come over, and after a couples long seconds, he did. "Grillby, has he drank anything? And do you know how many he's smoked?" You asked, jutting a finger at the cigarette.

Grillby nervously looked around, pointed at the cigarette before holding up two fingers, then pointed at cheap beer and held up three fingers. Damnit. Swap never drinks. Something's wrong. Really wrong. "Thank you Grillby." He nodded and nervously walked away. "Y/N I need to get home without Blue seeing me like this." Swap grunted, his words were slurred, a symptom from the beer. "Can't you teleport?" You whispered harshly. He groaned and placed his head on the bench, looking up at you with doe eyes. "Can't think straight...too blurry..." he groaned. "Damnit Swap. I don't know what to do."

You looked around nervously. He slid his hand into yours. "Please Y/N..." you rubbed his hand, trying to comfort him. Suddenly an idea popped in your head. "Swap, do you trust Toriel? Like with Blue?" He nodded. "K stay here okay? I promise I'll be back, love you." You quickly dashed out and headed for the Inn. There, you saw Toriel along with Asriel and Blue. "Excuse me Queen Toriel-" she laughed heartily. "Human, you don't have to call me that. I'm not trying to kill you anymore." You nodded hurriedly. "Human? Is something wrong?" She asked, noticing you sweating. "Toriel I need you to make sure Blueberry stays here for a while. Swap is uhm-" You glanced to make sure Asriel and Blue were still happily playing. "Swap is in a bad state right now and I need to get him home but he doesn't want Blue seeing him." Toriel's brows furrowed. "Y/N. Of course, but please be careful. Men can do bad things when they're not stable." You nod quickly. "Thank you."
