Prologue

Hey! First, thank you readers for having the intress to take a look around here. I hope that the story will please you.

Second, know that my native language is french, also I'm currently translating the done chapters of this fic that I'm originally writting in french. I had to use translation for many words that I have no clue in english, so the following text is a mixture of translation and personnal reading for details... I would like you to tell me if you spot any wrong syntax or weird stuff, so I can correct it and improve ;)

About the story : The narrative will mainly revolve around the point of view of a young woman who finds herself "teleported" into the One Piece universe: we will talk about friendships, affections, adventures, journeys, in short, life. Disclaimer: the One Piece universe belongs to Eiichiro Oda, only the OCs come from me. Some elements of the original lore will be slightly modified for the sake of the plot.

Braalaka turned the doorknob of her lodgings, leaning on it with an elbow and pushing with her shoulder, while gesturing to cross the threshold despite her bulky duffel bag that encumbered her. Once inside, she locked the door and carelessly tossed the bag in a corner. She immediately headed to the bathroom, eager to get rid of the sweat that gave her the unpleasant feeling that her skin was sticky. She took off her clothes, which she left lying on the floor, and then proceeded to tie her long brown hair into a ponytail, which she then tied into a messy, unkempt bun. The young woman grimaced as she scratched her scalp with a large hair clip, which she managed to place all the same to solidify the improbable hair construction. Finally ready, she stepped over the edge of the bathtub and had to battle with the infernal shower curtain to slide it over its rod.

She leaned comfortably against the wall along the bath as the hot water began to trickle down her tired body. She enjoyed this comfort for a few more moments and then calmly soaped herself up. When she had the pleasure of feeling clean, she turned off the water, hung up the showerhead, removed the curtain, and began to get out of the bathtub, clinging to the edge with caution, well aware of her ability to slip at the slightest inattention - once but not twice, as they say -. The brunette grabbed a towel and rubbed it vigorously on her skin. Finally, she wrapped herself in a large gray bathrobe and untied her long hair, which fell loosely to her mid-thighs. Finally, she retrieved and "put away" her clothes in a ball in the laundry basket, where she also added the sweat-soaked equipment from her gym bag, including her boxing gloves, objects that were impossible to completely clean and always smelled a little like goat.

The young woman then went to her fridge and opted for the "finish yesterday's leftovers" option after noticing that most of the shelves were empty. She heated up a plate with what was left of her chicken and vegetables, and while she was starting to scribble a list of food items on a sticky note stuck to her, she was interrupted by the ringing of her phone. She looked at the screen, pulling the noisy mobile from her pocket: the smiling face of Chloé, her best friend, appeared. She answered:

"Hello you!" a voice cried out from the other end of the line.

"Why are you bothering me when I'm eating?" the brunette joked.

"So you come to the pub with me!"

"Ah, sorry but I'm dead tired, I wasn't planning on moving tonight..."

"Oh, too bad then! It's been a while, do you think we could go sometime this week?" asked Chloé.

"Yes, rather on Wednesday, should it be ok?"

"Yep! Have a good evening."

"Good evening, see you soon," Braalaka smiled, putting her phone on the table.
