Lady Nalan was born in Edirne, the westernmost province of Türkiye, and then came to Ordu in the north. He has a very active and interesting life. His mother is from Thessaloniki Turkmens and his father is from Pomaks, Muslim Bulgarians. Nalan means "one who suffers" and her life is full of such pain.
