Bones pierced through the floor. Burn marks on the walls. Blood everywhere. A Human on their last legs. As well as a Skeleton, Exhausted to the 'bone'.
"yep, that's right." The skeleton said, squinting his eyes as if it had heard something funny. "it's literally nothing." The Skeleton winked at the Human. "and it's not going to be anything either." his eye socket had opened once more.
The Human was confused. They were at 1 HP, one more hit and they were done. No matter the strength or KR damage. Adrenaline pumping through their veins hadn't yet stopped. There was no way the Skeleton was giving them an out after everything they had done.
"heh heh heh..." the skeleton chuckled, closing its eye sockets. "ya get it?" The Skeleton questioned. "i know i can't beat you."
The Human had taken this as a sign of victory. That The Skeleton wasn't going to dodge next turn. That it had given up.
"one of your turns... you're just going to kill me." The skeleton stated, as if it were a fact. "so uh. i've decided..." the Skeleton closed its eyes, pondering. "it's not gonna BE your turn. Ever."
Confused, The Human stood up from their kneeling position. Attempting to make any sort of progress at all. Only for their legs to give out from underneath them. Returning to the state they were in before. Determined to strike down their obstacles in their path. They overcame the numbness in their legs and attempted to run at the exhausted Skeleton. Only to blink and be right back where they started.
"i'm just gonna keep having MY turn until you give up." the skeleton winked.
The light in the skeleton's eye lights went out. "even if it means we have to stand here until the end of time." The Skeleton threatened. The Skeletons eye lights returned, as well as an everlasting lazy grin. "capiche?"
A chill went up The Humans spine. Or was that their sins? Either way the Human knew The Skeleton. They had a life together, with their friends. The Human knew what the Skeleton was like when it was mad, happy, or sad. The Human knew the skeleton like the back of their hand. Just as they knew every other monster.
The Human knew The skeleton can and will keep its end of the threat.
And The Human would not let the easiest enemy stop them from completion.
The Human charged at the Skeleton more. Only to end up where they started each time they tried.

It had been 45 minutes since The skeleton had last spoken. But not even ten seconds since the Human had last tried to attack the skeleton. The silence was broken by the Skeleton.
"you'll get bored here." The human stopped attempting to attack. Curious of what the Skeleton might say. "if you haven't gotten bored already, i mean." The skeleton grinned. The eyelights fading once more, to say "and then you'll finally quit."
______________________________________________________________________________
The Human had not, in fact, given up. If anything The Skeletons words had inspired it to continue. Partially out of spite. Mostly out of Determination.
That's when the skeleton broke the 20 minute silence once more.
"i know your type." The Skeleton states. Eye lights finally returned. "you're, uh, really determined. aren't you?" The skeleton says, grinning once more. "you'll never give up, even though there's, uh... absolutely NO benefit to persevering whatsoever." The skeleton once again winked. "if i can make that clear." he said looking to the side. "no matter what, you'll keep going. not out of any desire of good or evil..." The skeleton noted, with disappointment in its eye sockets. "but just cause you think you can." The skeleton grinned. "and because you 'can'... you 'have to'." The skeleton said remorsefully.
______________________________________________________________________________
The Human had stopped attacking. Not because they had given up, but rather they just realized they were wasting energy. It had been approximately 15 minutes since the skeleton had last spoken.
Of course the moment the Human takes note of this, The skeleton speaks once more.
"but now you've reached the end. there's nothing left for you now." The skeleton voiced his observation, closing his eyes. Sweat dripping down his face. "so, uh, in my personal opinion..." The skeleton looked away for a moment. "the most 'determined' thing you can do here?" The skeleton looks back "is to, uh, completely give up. and..."
The skeleton stopped talking for a moment, confusing The Human. Until The skeleton yawned. This was enough to give The Human reason to keep going.
"do literally anything else." The skeleton finishes his earlier sentence. Only to unwillingly, lock eyes with the Human. With nothing else better to do, they stare at each other for what seems to be an eternity.
______________________________________________________________________________
After five minutes the Human notices it. The skeletons' eye sockets have begun to get heavier. They were lower than they were five minutes ago. The human smiles a sadistic grin. With knowledge, with enough determination, anything is possible.
______________________________________________________________________________
Ten minutes.
That's how long it takes a Skeleton to fall asleep standing.
How does the Human know this?
They counted every second.
Waiting.
Anticipating.
And then it finally happened.
Still on their last legs, The human walked towards the sleeping Skeleton. Slowly but surely. Knife in their dominant hand. Walking turned into jogging. Jogging turned into Running. Running turned into Sprinting. They kept on Sprinting until...
They Swing.
MISS
"heh, didja really think you would be ab-"
They Swing again.

The Skeleton falls back. Coughing out blood. Putting its left hand on its wound, as if to apply pressure. But then looks at the blood on it after realizing it would do nothing. Breathing heavily. Bones shaking. A Human staring at it with a Bone chilling Smile.
"so..." The skeleton begins. "guess that's it then, huh?" The skeleton weakly sputters out.
The Skeleton looks down at its wounds once more. "just... don't say i didn't warn you."
The skeleton attempts to stand up, only to fall backwards. Now with its back on the ground, its life flashes before its eye.
"papyrus, i'm going to grillbys... do you want anything?"
The lights in its eyes slowly fade out, and the skeleton slowly begins to dust away.
The human. For the first time in any timeline. Speaks.
"You were magnificent, Sans the Skeleton." The Human flashed a triumphant smile. "I shall never forget you for as long as I live."
The skeletons grins one last time, knowing it will all be reset. Then finally dusting away.
