"Wake up Wonu, you're gonna be late. Honestly, you're in your 3rd year now, you gotta learn to take care of yourself."
"Mom it's too early." Wonu groaned, hiding under the sheets as his mom opened the curtains.
"Come on, you can't be a big baby forever." His mom dragged him out of bed.
"Mom nooo, I don't want to go to school." He whined.
His mom just giggled at him. Even though Wonu constantly complains about school and how tiring it is, he's still the top of his class.
He packed his bag and went down to grab breakfast before leaving. Their house was only a five minute walk from school. The route was already familiar to him, having to walk the same path for the past couple of years. And living in a small town, everyone practically knew each other, or at least have seen each other.
Wonu was born and raised there, his mom and dad had been living there since they got married, way before Wonu was born.
'Someone finally moved-in that house huh?' Wonu thought to himself.
For the past year, no one had been living there since the previous owners moved away.
-
"Wonu!" Joshua waved at Wonu and gestured to take the seat next to him
"Hi Josh"
"Yo! I heard there's a new student. I hope she's pretty."
"A new student? Must be the one who just moved in to the empty house a couple of blocks from school."
"Wasn't it haunted?" Joshua joked making the two of them laugh.
"Good morning everyone, I'm your homeroom teacher." The teacher said as she walked in.
Everyone's attention was directed towards a student that walked behind the teacher into the room.
"You got what you wished for Josh, she's pretty alright." Wonu teased.
"Fuck you" Joshua whispered and Wonu giggled.
"I'm Kim Mingyu, 17." The new student introduced himself.
"Are you single?" one girl asked, bursting the class into laughter.
"I'd be single for you." Mingyu replied.
"He's already flirting with the girls?! Joshua complained in a annoyed tone.
"So you're jealous?" Wonu kept on teasing.
"Yeah, he's trying to steal my girls." Josh replied.
Wonu rolled his eyes, trying his best to keep his laughter in. They were always like this, ever since they were little. Joshua was rather short tempered so Wonu loved teasing him.
Lunch time came by and everyone went to the cafeteria to eat. Wonu had told Joshua to go ahead first because he had to go to the restroom.
"Hey, uh.. we're classmates right?"
Wonu was washing his hands but turned around when he heard someone talk from behind him.
Wonu didn't know why, but he just stared at him for a second before snapping back to his senses.
"Y-yes. Kim Mingyu right?"
"Yep, that's me. Hey, could you tell me where the cafeteria is?"
"I'm headed there, you can co-come with me..."
'Am I stuttering? No...why would I even stutter?' Wonu though to himself.
He was never the type to be shy, he had no reason to be. At least that's what he thought. Wonu was confident in everything that he did, and everything he stood for. Everyone respected him, and he respected everyone. He was top of his class for years, he was smart and good looking, and he knew it. So he never found any reason to hold himself down and be shy.
'No, no...he's just new...'
"Josh, we have company..." Wonu pointed at Mingyu beside him.
"Hi, I'm Mingyu!"
"Hi..." Joshua replied, his face looked visibly annoyed.
"Stop it Josh, he's gonna think you're a jerk." a voice came from out of nowhere. "You're new aren't you?"
"Yeah, Kim Ming-"
"I know, I heard you introduce yourself." She giggled. "You didn't tell me your new friend's good-looking, Wonu."
"Woah woah, I'm much more handsome than him." Joshua butt-in.
"Mmm, I agree with Jess. He's more good-looking than you, Josh." Wonu made fun of his friend.
"You think so?" Mingyu had a slight smirk as he turned to Wonu.
'Why....say something Wonu. Why are you acting like this, he's....'
Wonu couldn't reply, he just took a step back from the boy infront of him and sat down. His seat was at the opposite side from where Joshua and Jess were sitting.
Mingyu grinned, he felt something from Wonu's reaction. Something he couldn't yet understand. He brushed it off and headed for the seat beside Wonu when someone got to it first.
"Yo buddy, this is where I sit. You can take this one over here."
'thank you, Soon' Wonu sighed in relief. The last thing he wanted was Mingyu sitting beside him. He was too confused at his feelings. 'I'll stay away from him, at least until this stops.' Whatever this is.
"O-okay." Mingyu replied, moving to the next seat.
"Soon! Am handsome right?!"
"We never said you aren't, Josh." Jess answered.
"Depends, are you gonna buy me lunch?" Hoshi replied.
"You're a gold digger!" Joshua yelled.
"Then nope, you're the ugliest person I've ever seen." Hoshi and Joshua were bantering.
Mingyu and Wonu on the other hand just stayed quiet. Wonu would glance at Mingyu from time to time, and their eyes would meet a few times making Wonu blush from....embarrassment?
.
"Your house is this way too?" Mingyu walked up to Wonu and asked.
"Ye-yeah"
'I'm going it again.' Wonu was annoyed at himself.
The walk was mainly quiet, with Mingyu looking around the unfamiliar neighborhood. Wonu just kept his head down, his plan of avoiding the boy was already failing.
The silence was broken when they got to Mingyu's house.
"Let's walk to school together, what time do you leave? I'll wait for you to pass by." Mingyu said before entering his house.
"Around...6:30."
"Okay, see ya." Mingyu ruffled Wonu's hair and winked before going inside. 'He's cute.'
Wonu was lost in his thoughts when he was walking back home. He didn't know why he was feeling all sorts of things. He didn't want to admit what he was feeling. The fact that Mingyu was a guy made him even more confused and lost.
'no..no. He's a boy..and you're also a boy. Why would you even think that, you don't have a crush on him, you can't have a crush on him. It-it's wrong. What would mom think? What would Josh and Hoshi think? It's-it's a sin...an abomination. It isn't normal Wonu, it shouldn't happen.'
Wonu was snapped out of his thoughts when he arrived at his house. He understood it now, it was all just a funny misunderstanding.
'He's just good looking. Like how Josh and Hoshi are good looking. Like how actors and stars are good looking.'
