|| Joe ||

Getting Donald Trump's number was an interesting and new task for Joe. However he had a plan and was not about to give up on it.

He decided on a strategic and respectful approach. First he decided that he would reach out through official channels, contacting mutual acquaintances and intermediaries who have managed to maintain steady relationships with Donald, which Joe found to be impressive because in his mind the other man was not easy to get along with whatsoever. However, they were on different political sides and both of them wanted to be the president for a second term.
Still, Joe found the man to be aggravating.

After some time Joe managed to secure Donald's number. Joe looked down at the contact number, he had entered it into his phone and decided to text him and hope to the lord that Donald wouldn't immediately block him after finding out who had texted him.

Maybe I should text him in one big message, explain to him that I just want to be helpful to him and finally set our differences aside.
Joe thought. He smirked at the idea knowing if he followed through with it he would have less of a chance at being blocked.

'Hey there, Donald it's Joe Biden, your opponent 😁.

Hope you're doing well. I know having thirty-four counts isn't the best thing to have when you're trying to become the U.S president again, lol.
So I decided that I'd give you some tips on running the U.S, after all I am still the president in current time. I'd thought I'd just give you a boost in chance of a second term since you already are at a bit of a disadvantage. However, if you want these tips we are going to need to be able to set our differences aside and be more friendly with each other.
So what do you say, deal?'

Joe pressed the send button feeling pretty confident in his message. Fall for it Donald that's all you have to do. He thought with a twisted smile.

Joe's smile grew as he saw a text message pop up onto his screen from Donald. He hadn't expected the man to respond so fast but he definitely didn't mind it.

'Joe,

Thanks for the message. Thirty-four counts? Well, they do love to come after me, don't they? But hey, you know how the game is played ;).

I appreciate the offer for some tips. Gotta admit the idea of taking advice from you makes me hesitate a bit. But as they say, keep your friends close and your enemies closer. If we're setting aside our differences maybe there's something to be gained from this.

So, sure, let's see what you've got. Don't expect me to be all 'Mr. Nice guy' on you now because of this though. Deal.

Donald.

Joe's eyes widened slightly in surprise at Donald's response, he hasn't expected the other man to be so accepting of the idea.
He quickly typed a response to Donald, a small smile playing on his lips as he typed.

Donald,

Glad to hear you are open to the idea. I didn't know you had it in you to consider a different perspective, but you proved me wrong. Haha.
Well let's make this interesting, shall we? You first tip is -

Surround yourself with a strong, diverse team. The more viewpoints you have, the better decisions you can make. Second, focus on unity. This country is at its best when we find common ground and work together. Finally, lead with integrity. People respect honesty and transparency, even when it's tough.

Let's keep the lines of communication open. Who knows, we might just surprise everyone ;)

Best,
Joe.

Joe,

Alright, you got my attention. Strong, diverse team? I can see the merit in that. Unity and integrity? Well, I suppose we all could use a bit more of those.

I'll take your tips into consideration. Let's keep this dialogue going. Who knows, maybe we can find some common ground after all.

Just remember, I'm still a tough competitor.

Best,
Donald :)

Joe smiled, shaking his head softly at Donald's stubbornness on remaining a tough competitor to him. If Joe had learned anything from his and Donald's interaction it would be that the other man honestly wasn't as bad as he had thought. Maybe the reason they had remained enemies for so long was only because they refused to treat each other with empathy and kindness.
Joe smiled, turning off his phone, maybe his plan would be easier to go through with than he had imagined.
