We had agreed to go out in London for the first time in months. Many of our friends were already there as I took too long deciding what to wear. I was never one to plan an outfit as I would change my mind 5 minutes before leaving anyways, so I always just figured leaving it to the last minute was what would end up happening so why plan? There were about 7 outfits on my bedroom floor waiting for me to tidy up when I get home in my possible drunken state later tonight. I went with a figure hugging baby pink dress with neck line which left my chest a little too exposed, but I was single and sick of it, so pulling out all the stops to get some attention but these days it only managed to get me the unwanted attention from men. They always seem to be a little too forward and shocked at the news when I mentioned I was into women. Some would try the line "you just haven't had the right man" but trust me when you've been touched by women the way I had, even the right man wouldn't be able to make me feel as good as women did. I was out with my best friend Hannah. We had been best friends since we were 10. That's 16 years of us annoying each other, but we wouldn't have it any other way. Hannah was very straight, she would regularly talk about some men she had met and how much they annoyed her being either too clingy and over bearing or too forceful. To that point I would regularly tell her "that's why I chose women". Even though women give me a head ache, they were so much easier on the eyes than men.
Jumping from club to club as we tried to catch up with the group, as we got to a location, looked around they were already on the next location. But at this point Hannah and I were over looking.
"Can we just stay here now please, if they are going to keep jumping from club to club we are never going to actually catch up" Hannah complained.
She had a point, this was now the third club we had landed on in the hope of catching them and still our night had yet to start. 11PM and we were yet to have our first drink.
"Yes, I'm staying here! I can't be bothered to queue up in the cold London weather anymore either" I said, heading straight to the bar I got Hannah and I a shot of tequila to start the night.
An hour into the night we had not moved from the bar, as were now on the second cocktail of the night. Hannah had pointed out a blonde that would make eye contact every now and then.
"She is so your type Hales"
Hannah was not the best wing woman when it came to helping me pick up women but she was very good at picking out the attractive ones from the clubs and night outs we had had.
"I think she's coming over here?"
Hannah picked up her cocktail and moved away leaving me stranded which would force me to talking to the blonde.
As she got closer she looked more and more familiar but I couldn't make out if I knew her or not. I didn't want to stare as she eagerly walked over to my direction, that might give her the wrong impression. Maybe it was the exact impression I was hoping to give, I was sick of being single and having someone head my way is something I very much would want right now. As she reached the bar I managed to make out her face a lot better. We had come across each other before. The playing hard to get happened to be the approach I took. Mainly for my own ego incase she didn't recognise me. She had gone for a more casual look, some light beige cargo trousers and ribbed white vest that seemed to fit her figure very well. Her arms toned, flexing slightly as she leaned against the bar, trying to make it not so obvious when I did look out the corner of my eye. From what I remember she was the type that liked being admired, but not in an egotistical way.
She curved her lips into a sweet smile as she stood next me ordering a drink. Making a few random comments as she waited it became obvious that she had remembered me but I had gone down the route of pretending I didn't know her and so now was forced to follow through. As she got her beer from the bar tender, she turned towards me her hip still leaning against the counter. She had the most beautiful eyes, eyes that I had remembered from when we met before. Eyes that had gotten me into trouble the first time, as fun as that trouble may have been.
"It was Hallie, right." she questioned before taking a sip of her beer.
"Feel like you have a face anyone would struggle to forget" she added, a smirk on her face waiting for my response.
I was hesitant, do I drop the act or keep going. She was stunning, as if she would believe I can't remember her.
"Yes Hallie, have we met before?" Looks like my brain had decided to keep up the act.
"You don't remember, well this is awkward" the blonde laughed under her breath, not convinced I had forgotten her she took another sip of her beer then moved closer to me. Her body language very confident, she was obviously someone who knew she was memorable. The smirk on her face said it all, and she would be right. She was very memorable.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to..." I paused a small smile presented on my face, this might have blown my cover.
"Your name was?"
"That's funny cause you were screaming it over and over again the last time we met" the blonde hinted, leaning down slightly so her whisper wasn't as loud. She brushed a strand of hair from face, the back of her index finger sliding across my cheek. Even the slightest touch from her sending a shiver down my spine.
"Oh Jesus" I said looking around if Hannah was close enough to be listening in
"It's Leah actually" she smiled, her eyes wondering up and down my body
"You look lovely, the dress hugs your body beautifully, really accents your..." her eyes still moving up slowly meeting my chest. I watched as her gaze paused slowly bitting down on her bottom lip.
"Leah" I called in a loud enough whisper.
Her eyes moving back up to mine as she chuckled slightly knowing I had caught her staring a little too long.
We spent a few minutes exchanging a few looks and comments about the evening. Making small talk about the music choices in the club, the awful over exaggerated dance moves that some guy was showing off in the corner. Hannah re-emerged from the corner of my eye mentioning her heels were killing her.
"We have a booth over there if you want to join us?" Leah offered pointing over to the far left where her friends looked to be having a lot of laughs.
"Yes please" Hannah jumped without hesitating to read if my interactions with Leah was going well or not. Taking a few steps in that direction hinting we should all start moving along so she could get off her feet.
"I will try my best to keep my hands to myself" Leah whispered close to my ear before taking a few larger steps to catch up to Hannah.
